Chapter 69 - On to Fiore

Amy listens through the listening device in her father's office, curious as to what is going on.

Despite being slow and a bit disoriented, Amy knew something wasn't right the moment Anna snatched her from the ground. Anna reported something wrong to her father and the bodies were removed from the premises.

Now that he called on her mother, she might get some answers.

"Did Amaryllis really blow up the outdoor warehouse, dear?"

"It was emptied out in preparation for the winter but there were intruders inside."

Her mother gasped lightly. "How could this have happened? What were they doing there?"

"I think they planned on kidnapping Amaryllis. Perhaps use her for ransom? Or use her for their own advantage while she is unable to truly think properly. I reported this to the authorities but I'm not sure if they could figure out themselves."

"NO! Who could have sent them?"

"I do not know dear. But with the factions in court acting up as it is right now, it might be best for Amaryllis to go to Fiore after all."

"I… think you might be right." She said defeated. "Amaryllis's powers are getting far more powerful. She will have better recuperating there with everything that is going on."

Amy's magic is getting much stronger and now all the doctors in the capital are intrigued on studying the connection of mental illness and magical growth, even though they are sorely wrong.

Now what do we do? Amy asked Boris and Alabaster who are also listening in.

"I had a good look at those people. They may be from the capital. But the fact that they are stationed at that warehouse must mean that they are after you. Can you guess what?"

Boris shook his head. "Not a clue. From what I understand about politics, Amy is friends with Solin's prince and has connections to the nobility. It might really be for ransom. What should we do?"

"We should just wait it out and see where it goes think."

As much as I hate to say it, I agree. Amy replied. There is nothing in the original story about any known tragedies or particular hardships that the Anthos family hasn't gone through.

"I should add that there are cases of bandits in Solin now. Alina may have gotten rid of the slave trade but that doesn't mean that the bandits and the slave traders will not create more problems in Solin." Alabaster said. "I even started employing mercenaries to help with the business. We expanded the roads in Monica for business too so it might put us in an even bigger disadvantage. You are going to need to be more careful from now."

Amy nodded tiredly, You do that.

"It seems your mental state is stabilizing but don't forget that a bad trigger would break it down."

I haven't had any since the nightmares of my original life have stopped though that is quite curious as to why it suddenly did. Instead, I see Violet taunting and yelling at me.

"And you ignored it?"

So far, she's not actually doing anything but inconveniently appear out of nowhere.

"Well, since she is not actually based on your trauma and bad memories, I guess It reflects the hallucination speech as well." Boris mused, "but we cannot ignore that she is still a part of your own psyche."

Amy thoughtfully nodded while looking droopy due to the stress. It's been months now and winter is coming soon. Fiore is nice and warm even in the winter season so perhaps it might do her some good. Isolating herself was something she believed to be absolutely necessary as to hide it from as many people as possible but in a paradoxical sense, she is looking forward to the trip as it might be the thing she needed instead of being stuck at home all day, every day for God knows how many more months she had to endure.

Viola looked as Leon and Rufus became extremely rowdy with their pranks. The most humorous one of the week is when the two stole their clothes and ran around the Academy during the free period and actually wearing them leaving everyone to chase them down angrily while they look like they are laughing up a storm. Her latest letter from Amy was a bit incoherent now but she got Ramiro to deliver it this time and from what she can make out, she is unable to care for him. According to the professors, she is only doing the bare minimum with her work and while it is a good job, they aren't her best work but she succeeded in finishing the schoolwork.

Viola wrote down a long letter explaining what is going on although she is unsure that she will even be able to read it at all. Both her parents said that Amy no longer suffers from nightmares or insomnia but is sleeping far more than before and struggles with her daily routine.

It can't be helped. Amy wrote down replies but they are hard to make out so she never gave it to them and instead relay her wellbeing to them saying that she is sick enough to be unable to write multiple letters now.

They also wrote that she will be heading to Fiore for a nice change in scenery for her recovery.

The servants swiftly packed enough for a long stay. The news of the intruders didn't spread throughout the mansion and the official story is that Amy would be staying in Fiore for her health rather than for her safety. She watched as the guards surround the carriage as she is led out by Anna carefully. It seems that her entourage would be well guarded. There are six guards and Anna is the only servant accompanying her.

Amy turned to her parents in which she gave them massive hugs. She won't be seeing them for a while. She would try to write to them but she will leave it to her great-grandpa to do it for her.

"Goodbye, Amaryllis! And stay safe!" Her father yelled in the distance. She waved back in response and immediately felt tired again.
