Luckily, just before the spear could hit the forcefield, an invisible force held the vampire Lord, stopping him from moving.
He grunted and managed to turn his head to the source of his predicament. I looked as well just in time to see the fairy Queen flying gracefully behind him.
Her eyes glowed as she struggled to use her magic to hold the vampire Lord in place.
'Get her somewhere safer.' Suddenly, her voice rang telepathically in my head.
I glanced at Aceco's limp body across the throne room and felt my resolve heighten.
However, I gave Rhett one final glance before smiling at him. This was his fight, I needed to step away.
Without wasting any more time, I jumped out of the forcefield and ran toward Aceco's body. At that same moment, it seemed the fairy Queen's spell on the vampire lord had weakened, as he roared with rage.
"Insect!" He snarled, but I didn't dare look back and just kept running.
