Fergus felt the life force leaving Darius's body as he drank his blood. He reveled in the feeling. It was one of a kind and unmatched.
"P– please. If not for m–me, s–spare me for my... daughter." Darius still managed to speak even as his life slipped away.
Fergus arched an eyebrow, impressed with his resilience. However, no amount of begging was going to make him spare the Beta.
He ignored his pleas, watching with glee as he began squirming under his hold. The room was quiet, the only sounds that could be heard being the Beta's desperate gasps and his legs shaking violently on the wooden floor.
Eventually, after two grueling minutes, Darius stopped breathing and moving altogether. But his eyes remained wide open, showing the last emotions he felt in his final moments... Pain and regret.
And just like that, the 'great Beta' of the Raven Wood pack had fallen. His eyes were sunken into his skull, his body becoming pale like a ghost.
