Core manipulation
"A quest panel?"
Marg wondered as he accessed his status panel, where he discovered two blinking icons at the bottom.
One had the image of an egg while the other had the image of a piece of paper pinned on a noticeboard.
He first accessed the pet panel...
[Pet Slot:1/3
Pet Shop
]
"So simple..."
Marg thought as he fed a raw steak to his newly hatched pet...
He selected the pet slot, and a panel with Tiger stats popped up
[Name:Tiger
Race: Geti (Cub)
Level:0/5
Might:6
Toughness:4
Cunning:3
Battle Skills: Roar,Claw,Bite,
Skill Points:0
Biomass:5]
The little guy already gained five biomass points, the meat Marg fed him was from a tier two Camo.
Thanks to his grinding and firming strategy,he could now afford to feast on tier two creatures.
"Nothing much..."
He thought as he selected the Pet Shop...
[Pet Shop:
Battle Skills: Charge(1 Pet Skill Point),Block(1 Pet Skill Point)
Mana Skills:(Core Needed)]
"Just two..."
Marg sighed as he decided on getting both skills the moment his pet had enough skills points.
He hoped that more skills will be available the moment his pet evolved, all he had to do was feed it biomass and experience points.
He watched Tiger gluttonously eating the pieces fed to him as if there were no tomorrow.
"Your so lucky little one that am here for you..."
Marg thought as he accessed the Quest Panel...
[Quest Panel:
Quest: Acquire a Pet I...(completed)
Acquire your first pet...
Option 1:Acquire pet by submission...
Reward:Tamer Class
Option 2: Acquire pet by core reconstitution
Reward:Core Manipulation Skill
]
"Two options..."
Marg opted to receive the rewards...
[Congratulations, you have learnt the core manipulation skill...]
As the knowledge flowed into his mind,Marg felt dizzy for a second,as he went through the information he had received,he was amazed at the limitless possibilities of the core manipulation skill.
"With this skill,I can improve the stats of my pets, manipulate the traits of creatures,or better still, create a whole new creature..."
As he thoughts of all the available possibilities there were,a plan started forming in his mind, but first,he had to train this skill to at least level ten for him to realize his dream,as for the needed cores,he had a hundred plus of them.
After the pet was full,Marg had it rest on his bed as he dug out a dozen cores.
He walked over to the workbench he had built...
"Time for some core manipulation..."
As Marg was busy training his new skill, something different was happening in the dungeon.
The level of mana on some regions of the dungeon spiked, before being compressed together into a metre wide sphere that later spurt out creatures of the dungeon.
Each sphere spurt out a ten of tier one and a couple of tier two creatures of the same race before disintegrating.
And among the creatures spurt out, were thirty tier one goblins and three tier two goblins. They happened to be spurt in the settlement that Marg was in.
The newly spurt creatures were quick to adapt to their environment, apart from the goblins, who were making a ruckus after a couple of them fell into a well concealed pitfall as they were heading out to hunt some meat.
[Congratulations, your Core Manipulation Skill has leveled up to +1]
"Huh...!"
Marg sighed as he used the back of his palm to wipe out the sweat on his forehead.
"That was tasking..."
"Nine more levels to go..."
As he reached out to a leather water poach he had crafted,he picked out the hushed noises from one of his many connecting tunnels.
He had earlier on moved his hideout from under the tree at the surface, and was now twenty metres underground.
He had done so as he had been worried of the return of those who raised his settlement before his birth.
The new hideout was twelve metres by twelve metres with an entrance at each side, these entrances connected to the various tunnels that he had dug, some of these tunnels connected to the pitfalls, which he had increased to twenty, with a dozen of them outside the settlement.
The remaining connected to a few hidden entrances within a hundred metres radius of the settlement.
These were to facilitate easy movement and escape in times of an emergency.
Apart from two of the tunnels, one leading to the tree he had earlier on dug his hideout, and the second one with a hidden entrance sixty metres east of the settlement, all the other tunnels were normal ones.
As he had been digging the two tunnels,he had used his mana to compact the soil and enhance the stone as to strengthen the tunnel walls, the same techniques was used to strengthen his hideout.
He did not want the walls caving in on him.
Apart from all the digging,he had crafted quite a good of items during his free time, his new hideout was fully furnished.
There was a bed crafted from wood, hide and fur for comfort,a wooden workbench,a shelf full of supplies, tools for crafting,a couple of racks full of weapons,a closet full off leather gear, some earthen pots filled with water and even some simple stone and wooden utensils.
He had also built several cold chambers along the different tunnels for storage of excess meat and one dedicated for storage of herbs and other resources that he could use for crafting.
The storage utilized the charcoal cooler principal.
As for lighting, apart from the fire that was burning at the center of the hideout,he had installed a cores on the ceiling, this cores was a rare ranked core as only rare rank and above cores glowed from the high amount of energy they possesed.
On one of the walls was a hidden compartment where he stored the cores.
Marg strained his ears before cursing...
"Damn!"
"I need to quickly level up as to mutate my sences..."
He changed into a leather set of armor he had crafted and equiped his bow,and strapped a pair of knives on his shin and a pair of short spear ls at his backed.
"Time for some action..."
Marg patted his still sleeping little pet before leaving the his underground hideout.
The goblins had all gathered at the six different entrances of the settlement,to others, they were just squeaking, but to Marg, who was hidden above the tree he had resided under before,he could clearly hear them.
At first,he had been shocked at the appearance of all these goblins in the settlement.
He had thought that they were from another section of this region but after watching and listening to their ruckus,he learnt a couple of things that made him question his earlier assumptions.
