Chapter 57 - Phosphorescent Fire Elephant

The soldiers charged towards the firebeasts, but Lord Welch remained Motionless As Mountains.

"Sauron Lord, not joining the fight?" Sauron raised an eyebrow.

"No rush."

Welch remained calm, saying, "These firebeasts are not worthy of my intervention. It's better to conserve energy and deal with that Phosphorescent Fire Elephant later."

Upon hearing Welch's words, Sauron nodded slightly.

On the side, Viscount Hall bent his bow and shot an arrow with a calm motion.

Pu!

The arrow, forged with iron essence, hit a firebeast but caused no harm. It slid off the tenacious beast skin.

Seeing this, Sauron shook his head in disappointment.

Viscount Hall, despite being valued by Welch, had mediocre strength. As someone who had not yet reached the Knight realm, he was likely not even as skilled as an ordinary soldier.

"These damn beasts."

Hall's face showed a hint of embarrassment as he defended himself, "Archery is not my forte; let Lord Sauron laugh."

Sauron chuckled, shaking his head without saying much.

Not far away, led by Moxine, the Benliu City soldiers surrounded the firebeasts and quickly killed two of them.

However, at that moment...

The bushes shook, and more firebeasts emerged. With the previous ones, their number had reached about thirty.

The boar-like firebeasts charged recklessly through the surroundings.

With their long fangs, seemingly high temperatures, and tenacious skin, the ordinary soldiers found it difficult to breach their defenses.

"Sauron Lord, don't you want to play?" Beside him, Hall's eyes flickered, curious about Sauron's strength since he invited him to Benliu City.

"Sure."

Sauron didn't refuse, nodded, and casually took out a longbow. Bending the bow, he shot an arrow at a nearby firebeast.

Swish!

As Sauron released the bowstring, a sharp sound echoed. The arrow pierced through a firebeast's head instantly.

Following that, Sauron rapidly shot three arrows, his movements flowing like water.

The arrows created precise arcs in midair, hitting the vital points of three firebeasts. In a series of wailing cries, the three firebeasts fell to the ground.

"Hiss!"

Hall sucked in a breath of cold air, his face showing astonishment. Though he had heard about Sauron's graduation from the Holy Splendor Academy, he hadn't expected his archery skills to be so terrifying.

Thinking about his own arrows from earlier, Hall's face turned red.

"Great arrow technique!"

Beside him, Welch couldn't help but praise, his eyes shining slightly as if reevaluating the young man in front of him.

With Sauron's help, the morale of Benliu City soared.

Each arrow he shot could deal with a firebeast. In a short time, at least ten firebeasts lay dead under Sauron's arrows.

Suddenly, the ground shook.

Moxine, who was battling the firebeasts, had his pupils contract. A look of alertness appeared on his face as he loudly ordered the soldiers of Benliu City to retreat.

"It's coming!"

Welch squinted his eyes, raised his hand, and two attendants beside him immediately handed him a battle axe.

The next moment, a huge monster walked out of the forest.

The surrounding trees broke, and even the ground slightly trembled. Several times larger than ordinary firebeasts, the giant elephant covered in red fur walked out, its crimson eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty light, and its curved ivory particularly sharp.

"Phosphorescent Fire Elephant!"

A hint of contemplation flashed in Sauron's eyes. During his time at the Holy Splendor Knight Academy, he had read records about the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant in the library.

It was a magical creature with awakened arcane abilities. Not only did they have a massive size and astonishing defensive power, but they could also breathe flames. During their mating season, they often caused forest fires.

"Be careful, everyone!"

Moxine shouted loudly, his face showing tension. Even with his Knight strength, he felt insufficient against the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant.

The soldiers around him quickly dispersed.

Against such a huge monster, ordinary soldiers were just sending themselves to death. Only those who had reached the Knight realm had the qualifications to participate in the battle. Even then, they could only assist, with the real confrontation left to high-level Knight Welch.

Welch, wielding his battle axe, took a deep breath.

Beside him, Hall's face turned pale. It was clear that he was witnessing such a monster for the first time. Suppressing the urge to turn and run, he stood in place.

At this moment, the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant let out an angry roar.

Opening its large mouth, a burst of flame spewed forth. The soldiers in its path couldn't dodge in time and were instantly engulfed in flames.

"Ah!!!"

The mournful scream of the soldier sent shivers down the spine.

In the next moment, the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant lunged forward, its curved ivory piercing through another soldier's chest, tossing him into the air.

"Karuu!"

Surrounding companions exclaimed in shock. As the fallen soldier landed, the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant raised its foot, turning him into a bloody mess.

Two soldiers consecutively lost their lives, prompting Welch to finally take action.

"Hah!"

Welch lifted his battle axe and charged towards the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant. The power of a high-level Knight erupted, and his imposing manner soared.

Shing!

The battle axe swung towards the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant, but its curved ivory blocked the attack. With a sharp sound, Welch took several steps back.

It was clear that, in terms of strength, the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant had the upper hand.

"This beast!"

A serious expression appeared on Welch's face. After stabilizing his posture, he decisively released the power of the life seed within him. A golden-gray light seemed to envelop his entire body.

The next moment, he charged again.

"What are you all standing there for?"

At the same time, far from the battlefield, Viscount Hall gave orders to the surrounding soldiers, including archers and spear-wielding soldiers.

Puff, puff, puff!

However, compared to the firebeasts, the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant's defensive power was more terrifying. Even the elite soldiers' thrown spears were ineffective against the creature's tough skin.

Seeing this, Hall couldn't help but look at Sauron.

"Don't worry, I have my own measure."

Sauron nodded slightly, bent his bow, and aimed at the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant. However, he didn't immediately shoot the arrow.

The skin of this Phosphorescent Fire Elephant was too tough. Even with Sauron's arrow technique, it was challenging to cause effective damage without hitting a vital point.

Therefore, Sauron had to wait for the right moment.

In the distance, wielding a battle axe, Welch fiercely battled the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant. Several Benliu City Knights also rushed to join the fray.

Facing the magical creature like the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant, ordinary soldiers would only be sending themselves to death if they got close. Only those who had reached the Knight realm were qualified to participate in this battle. Still, at most, they could only assist. The real contender against the Phosphorescent Fire Elephant was the high-level Knight Welch.
