As the two fled, the distance between them grew.
"At least I've shaken him off!"
Jumping from the rooftop into a narrow alley, Sauron felt relieved. Both being intermediate level Knights, Mars's speed was not to be underestimated.
If it weren't for the Night Raven Breathing Technique, Sauron might not have escaped the pursuit.
Now that Mars was nowhere in sight, Sauron hid in a corner, took a moment to rest, and cautiously walked out only after confirming there were no dangers around.
"Birch Forest!"
Sauron squinted his eyes. If Ron managed to escape the pursuit of those two Knights, the most likely place he would head to was the Birch Forest.
After all, at this moment, Ron was wanted throughout the city. Staying in the capital was almost a dead end. Ron's only choice was to leave, and the Birch Forest served as a potential hiding place.
"Let's go take a look."
After pondering for a moment, Sauron tossed away the cloth on his face.
Then, he adjusted his condition, calmly walked out of the alley, and soon left the capital, arriving at the outer circle area of the Birch Forest.
Upon entering the Birch Forest, Sauron discovered a pool of blood in a corner. Convinced that Ron had made it here, he quickened his pace, hearing sounds of a struggle in the distance.
Sauron's heart moved, and he swiftly climbed up a large tree.
"Didn't expect you to hide things here!"
A trace of a cold smile appeared on Mars's face as he looked at Ron. Faintly, he said, "Your father should have been rewarded for bringing this batch of goods back from the southern region."
"Unfortunately, these goods can't see the light of day."
"So, to keep this secret, we have to sacrifice you. I can only apologize on behalf of Count Ryan."
After speaking, Mars elegantly bowed.
Then, he waved his hand, and two Knights by his side immediately approached, preparing to kill the injured Ron and retrieve the precious goods.
"Halt, don't come any closer!"
Suddenly, Ron shouted loudly, igniting a torch.
Mars's complexion slightly changed.
"Anyone who comes closer, and I'll destroy this thing!"
A hint of fierceness flashed in Ron's eyes. Placing the torch near the carriage, he gritted his teeth and said, "You bunch of parasites, actually conspiring with the Crusaders in secret!"
"Today, even if I die, I must expose this to His Majesty!"
Hearing Ron's words, Mars's expression darkened.
These goods were transported back from the southern region, and as the underground king, Count Ryan did indeed have some connections with the Crusaders. In fact, the rapid rise of the Crusaders was largely due to Count Ryan's support.
"Kid, there are things you can't say recklessly."
Mars remained expressionless, lightly saying, "Your father brought back this batch of goods from the southern region, and he was the one dealing with the Crusaders."
"Even if there are issues, it has nothing to do with Count Ryan."
"If you want to live, I advise you to be smart!"
Mars squinted his eyes, raising his hand, pressing on the slender sword at his waist, and faintly said, "Kneel down and beg for mercy. Perhaps I can give you a chance to survive."
Upon hearing Mars's words, a bitter smile appeared on Ron's face.
"A chance to survive?"
Ron's eyes revealed a touch of sorrow as he muttered, "Now that I've lost my family, what's the point of surviving? I've long wanted to die..."
"But I can't die in vain!"
While speaking, Ron's face became grim. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Even if I die, I must avenge my father and Uncle Muir!"
Shua!
At that moment, Mars suddenly moved, swiftly drawing his slender sword. Then, like a cold glow, it shot towards Ron.
In an instant, the sword pierced Ron's shoulder.
Ron screamed, and the torch fell to the ground. Mars and the two Knights quickly moved forward to restrain him.
"With your abilities, you still want to avenge Count Ryan?"
Mars sneered, using his foot to step on Ron's wound while signaling the two Knights to inspect the goods on the carriage.
"I won't let you near Count Ryan!"
Suddenly, Ron, with his injured body, stood up and quickly used a cloth strip to bandage his wound. Coldly, he said, "I knew you were an intermediate level Knight, so I had to prepare."
Ron took a deep breath, gripping the cross sword in both hands.
"Do you think this can deal with me?"
Mars's eyes were cold, but he didn't say anything more. In a step, he rushed towards Ron, and the slender sword in his hand stabbed like a venomous snake.
"Damn it!"
Ron's complexion changed. He hadn't expected Mars, who was clearly poisoned, to still move so quickly.
Chi!
As the sword attacked, Ron groaned, his shoulder already injured.
Following that, Mars launched several more attacks, leaving bloody holes on Ron's body. However, Ron continued to endure, steadfastly resisting Mars's fierce assaults.
"I must... seek revenge!"
Determination flashed in Ron's eyes. He held the long sword tightly, doing his best to withstand Mars's relentless attacks.
But soon, he couldn't hold on any longer and fell to the ground.
"Hmph! Fool."
Mars snorted coldly, faintly saying, "Dealing with an intermediate level Knight with this level of poison is quite laughable, isn't it?"
"Speak up. Where are Count Ryan's goods?"
With a renewed force under his foot, stepping on Ron's wound, Mars caused pain to appear on his face. At the same time, there was a hint of mockery in his eyes.
