Chapter 2 - Data Panel

The outside snow gradually subsided, but Sauron inside the room still felt a chilling cold throughout his body.

"Hu!"

He exhaled, rubbing his stiff hands together. At the same time, he threw two pieces of wood into the fireplace, and a faint flame began to burn.

"I never expected something like this to happen to me."

Sauron sighed, accepting the reality of his crossing as he recalled the memories added to his mind.

The world he currently inhabited resembled medieval Europe but was filled with a touch of fantasy.

The original owner of this body was a sixteen-year-old named Sauron Swain, born into a noble family in the Western border, the son of the Lord of Night Raven City. Three years ago, he was sent to the capital to undergo knight training at the Holy Splendor Knight Academy.

Everything was peaceful until about three months ago.

The Lord of Night Raven City mysteriously disappeared, and rumors spread outside. The nobles from the Western border coveted the wealth of the Swain family, thus plotting this murder.

Poor Sauron met his end.

Whether it was fortunate or unfortunate, Sauron's soul occupied this body, and the supposedly deceased Sauron came back to life.

"Poor guy!"

Sauron sighed, his face showing contemplation, muttering, "After finally crossing to another world, I wonder if there's any accompanying cheat?"

As his words barely fell, a ray of light flickered before Sauron's eyes.

Looking at the emerging data, Sauron's eyes lit up.

"Really!?"

Sauron's face brightened as he thought, "And this data panel... Why does it look so familiar?"

"Right! This is the game I developed before!"

Before the crossing, Sauron was a programmer. The cheat that appeared now was from a game he developed, a mediocre online game where character growth was achieved by increasing proficiency.

"Indeed, poisoned to death!"

Observing the status column in the data panel, Sauron looked thoughtful. As per the conversation he overheard in the morgue, Sauron did die from poisoning.

As for the reason, it seemed related to the disappearance of the original owner's father.

"Bow Arrow Technique, Night Raven Breathing Technique, Armybreak Swordsmanship!"

Sauron continued to examine the data panel. The passive column had only these three entries, with Bow Arrow Technique being the highest level, already reaching LV3.

Recalling the memories of the original owner, Sauron understood that Bow Arrow Technique was indeed Sauron's forte.

"As long as I keep practicing, proficiency can be increased!"

Sauron's eyes gleamed as he said to himself, "Bow Arrow Technique is just a basic passive. It needs to be raised to at least LV5 to comprehend skills."

"Time to give it a try when I have the chance."

"But before that, my current main problem is to neutralize the poison in my body. Otherwise, I won't last long and will die again!"

Sauron's cause of death was poisoning. Although Sauron crossed over, and his soul occupied this fleshy body, toxins remained. If not resolved, it would always be a problem.

"Zhi Zhi!"

Just as Sauron contemplated, the door suddenly opened. Martha, the emotionless woman from the morgue, entered.

Sauron remembered that the woman's name was Martha.

"Drink this."

Martha's expression was indifferent as she handed a bottle of white liquid to Sauron.

"What is this?"

Sauron's eyes showed a hint of caution. Having died from poisoning before, he didn't dare to try any unknown liquid easily.

"It's a potion I concocted to neutralize the toxins in your body."

Martha's tone was indifferent, and she sneered, "Whether you drink it or not, it's up to you. Your life and death have nothing to do with me."

Sauron's thoughts flickered.

According to Sauron's memories, he arrived in the capital three years ago as a noble and became a student at the Holy Splendor Knight Academy. Martha, the teacher, was one of the academy teachers with a cold personality, not affiliated with any faction, and had no conflicts of interest with Sauron.

"Should be fine!"

Sauron's eyes gleamed. He felt that Martha had no malice towards him, so he nodded and said, "Thank you, Martha teacher."

Having said that, Sauron slowly drank the potion. Out of caution, he didn't drink it all at once but swallowed it bit by bit, feeling no discomfort. He then relaxed.

"It's effective!"

At this moment, Sauron looked at the data panel again and found that the status column was returning to normal. He realized that Martha's potion was effective.

"Hmph!"

Seeing Sauron drink the potion, Martha snorted coldly.

Sauron felt a bit sorry, so he quickly changed the subject and asked, "By the way, Martha teacher, is Miss Evelyn okay?"

Hearing Sauron's words, Martha sneered.

"Hmph! Evelyn is fine."

Martha's face looked unpleasant as she faintly said, "I finally found an excellent disciple, scared once by you, and now she refuses to study dissection anymore!"

"Uh..."

A hint of embarrassment appeared on Sauron's face.

Not long ago, just after he crossed, this body was still lying in the morgue. Martha, as a teacher, intended to verify the speculation that Sauron died of poisoning through dissection. At the same time, it was an opportunity she arranged for Evelyn.

Evelyn was an excellent disciple Martha had encountered with outstanding abilities in various aspects. Her only flaw was a somewhat timid character, especially fearing blood and corpses.

Martha originally intended to use this opportunity to let Evelyn experience human dissection, encouraged by Martha herself. With encouragement, Evelyn gradually overcame her inner fear. Completing this dissection would be a significant step towards becoming a scholar.

Who would have thought that the supposedly deceased Sauron would suddenly play dead!

Poor Evelyn was frightened on the spot. After Martha brought her back to the room, she struggled to wake up and developed a psychological shadow, refusing to study dissection.

Although it couldn't be blamed on Sauron, Martha still held a bit of resentment.

"Please apologize to Miss Evelyn on my behalf, Martha teacher." Sauron's face showed an apologetic expression.

"Let it go. It's not your fault."

Martha shook her head. Seeing Sauron

's good attitude, she didn't pursue it any further. She lightly said, "The toxin in your body has been neutralized. Rest for a while, and you'll fully recover."

"But, I'll advise you to be careful lately!"

Martha didn't say much, just gave Sauron a deep glance before turning away, leaving Sauron in contemplation.

According to the conversation he overheard in the morgue, Sauron now had a better understanding of his current situation.

As the son of the Lord of Night Raven City, Sauron possessed the right to inherit the power of Night Raven City. Under the protection of the Lord Oren, Sauron enjoyed privileges.

Until about three months ago.

Lord Oren of Night Raven City suddenly disappeared, and rumors of his death spread. The lords from the Western border began to stir.
