Chapter 7 - Fathers Legacy

Many multiple screens showing different historical events of different worlds floated around a dimly lit council meeting chamber as many shadowed figures altered some of the screens before swiping them to the next shadow person.

Many events no matter how small were tweaked by some for good or some who brought destruction on those planes which needed it before archiving it.

One being had multiple screens as he would only swipe those he wasn't interested in as he meticulously watched over a child as she grew.

Time flows differently as he watches her from the moment she came out of the Stasis Ball, to how she made her way to survive in the primitive or less advanced society, those people who craved the knowledge of his people for their own pleasure.

He did what he could so it wouldn't be noticed of how he slowly helped this particular child who was the last of her kind.

Another shadow figure leaned over and said, "Still keeping an eye on your girl?"

Startled, the first figure flinched as he realized who it was, "Yea! She's growing up but looks like she stopped aging though…"

"You know that some others have done what you did?? So she's not the only one… Probably the only one in that sector though… But~ Hey! I need your help with this person!"

Sighing he put the screen of his child on pause as he looked at the screen in question, "So what is wrong?"

"This particular soldier has a 78% genetic code similar to us and I don't know how to leave it since he has a higher percentage than we've seen since The Collapse."

It was of a lone soldier in primitive style armor similar to their warrior class armor, yet was totally useless. The soldier seemed alone as he completed mission after mission skilfully and soon was called in to a meeting of humans who kept their faces hidden as they told him of a few options to pick a new mission from.

"Pause It!"

The other one paused it confused, as it paused the timeline the soldier was in who just thought the meeting was going on exceptionally long.

"What is it?"

"That matches with my daughter's timeline!" Bringing up multiple files he found one with her to be in the exact same room as the soldier, "Since she is currently alone… could you see if you can alter the decisions to place him with her?"

Thinking about it the other figure nodded as he typed a few things as he pressed Play on his screen.

"You have a choice to either Babysit an Ancient! Or you can retire to the colonies! Which shall it be?"

The soldier said in a deep voice, "Sir! I'll do the babysitting, Sir!"

"Good! What it entails is for you to keep her from any and all types of harm or threats! You need to follow all of her orders to the letter! Is that clear?"

"Sir! Yes! Sir!"

As the soldier walked out of the room and the screen went dark, the shadow person then handed over the screen to the shadow father.

"You do know your Century Shift is almost up if you want… you can change early, that is if you want more time to watch over her. I could take over the rest of your shift, since my sector is done?"

Pocketing the two screens into himself he nodded as he left his spot to the other. Moving as if he was done he left the dome like chamber and into a world of flowing streams of different colors, winds made of radio waves of different species, pathways of stone with fates on them led to many places.

Making his way to a large dark cube, a sector for private personnel, he made his way to his room as he phased through the wall-like door.

In this solitude he relaxed and as he sighed his shadow dropped and he became like a human, only taller and buffer as he pulled out the two screens to watch over his precious daughter who seemed to have just met the soldier in a smaller office.

With half a smile on his face he then started towards an odd looking desk as he pulled up the soldier's genetic code to see what his friend was talking about.

Sure enough the genetic sequence almost matched the Servant-Warriors' genetic make-up.

Confused on how this happened he looked at the soldiers' past and saw how he was kidnapped and replaced with a clone with a short life span, and how they trained them physically for years before blindly mixing experimentation on them to change their genetics.a

The reasoning behind the experiments was baffling, Human Insurrection Containment, the making of super soldiers using lost ancient technology to quell so-called rebel forces when they make a separate government to survive in asteroid fields or are too far from any settlements.

Sighing at the stupidity level of greed of the new humans he remembers the previous humans and how loyal they were to each other no matter the dispute.

They always settled it with either a sparring match or crafting match.

Sometimes the two genders would swap matches, where the men would craft horribly or the women that became beasts of war that sparked a mating selection to occur.

That was until his people realized they were on the run from the flood.

A hivemind parasitic that spreads by small carriers that always found its way under any species' skin and took over by mutating the body and hijacking the mind.

Gladly they were able to seal its main body away in different sectors with massive difficulties.

Wondering how the Librarian had worked their genetic makeup into the seeding of the new humans without discovery until now was genius.

Looking at the poor state his daughter was in saddened him as he placed a hand on the soldiers screen and forced teleported him to her location silently as the soldier watched her beat herself against the walls as she cried in agony as the flames of heat didn't die down and steam arose faintly from her skin.

As he watched him confront her softly and decided to take the heat from her, the father made a decision and quickly made an access way from the link of his new system as a portal appeared next to him and he turned and waited for the soldier to materialize with a stern look plastered on his face.

The soldier slowly appeared before him and seemed surprised. The soldier checked himself first before scanning the surroundings and seeing himself with the girl on his lap on a screen before rechecking his body again.

"Am I dead?" He solemnly asked.

With a small smirk the father replied, "No! I called you here, for you are the only one able to withstand my daughter's Heat! Congratulations!" Leaning forward he asked seriously, "Give me a reason why I should let you live with her!"

Flinching as he took in his words meaning as he looked at the screen before turning to the man sitting before him. He then saluted and introduced himself,

"Spartan 053 of the Spartan 1 Program, Reporting for Inspection Sir!" With a saddened voice he added, "Though I believe on Record that I'm already dead so~ I might not even be Spartan 053 anymore… I had already decided to protect her at all costs! Hence why I challenged her Heat if it helped her in any way which by the looks of it, it did!" He waited as he held his salutle with ease.

Noticing his efforts the father then replied with an exhausted voice like a Whisper from the Abyss, "I'm her father… Though you probably guessed that already. I…We are dead! We are in the Domain that is part of the Universal Flow! There are a very few others of our kind still alive, although none are anywhere near her. I have given you enough abilities on the same level as our best Servant-Warrior General… Use them wisely for something massive may happen sometime soon to where her system giving powers may be affected... I advise you to gather your forces and Level up together before it happens! For I do not know what will happen to us on this side and I worry for my daughters safety."

Spartan 053 assessed the situation facts and the being who claimed to be her father before him before thinking about how much would be considered enough and how he would go about it when he is considered dead.

After thinking for a bit he asked curiously, "Sir! I do not know what to call you, nor does your daughter know you and you look too... Human to be her father... How should I address you?"

As if reading his mind as he spoke, the old man sighed heavily, "I am Akatosh Ravelin! My daughter who took on the human name Shana Woods from the one human who saw her as such… Her Original name is Kyrena Ravelin!"

Leaning back Akatoshs' eyes became misty for a split second as he reminisced on his interactions when she was a child,

"She's the only one I trusted with my work when the sacrifice of our kind was made to stop the Flood…Though your facial furroring means you know nothing about it which means it was a success! There are many benefits to having the First Husband System though she may have more than one Husband and give them systems all well, yours will always be the strongest and the one with more authority than the others."

Akatosh stared harshly at the Spartan before asking sternly, "You are aware that you are no longer Human…Correct?"

Spartan 053 frowned as he didn't know how to be anything else.

"Since your Human form is dead by records and your body is no longer Human, thus your name no longer applies to your new form!"

As Akatosh watched his face twist in confusion and dread he felt slight pity for him, "Since you are now my son!" The Spartan looked him dead in the eyes and waited, "I will grant you a new name for your new body! If you take it… it will come with benefits when you wake up, if not you may make your own but it will not have benefits for you to prosper from!" Folding his hands and crossing his leg atop the other he asked softly yet heavily, "Which do you choose?"

Faced with the facts that he is no longer human and is considered dead. The lone soldier now doubted his existence and purpose with a heavy heart.

As if reading his mind Akatosh said solemnly, " You still draw breath, do you not?" The soldier looked up at him confused, "My warrior kind and I have a saying for when we are ever in doubt: Until I draw my Last Breath, Support those beside me, Shield those behind me, and let those who face me meet their end swiftly!" With kind eyes as he saw a younger version of his best friend in the soldier before him, "You have yet drawn your last and those who were behind you are now facing you and those beside you are now behind you… So what do you do now?"

As the words sank in, the soldier realized that he was thrown away by those who made him and has changed to another army, so the commander of that new army which is now his wife (whatever that is, he'll figure it out later) so until he stops breathing he should protect her with all his might! With a new purpose in life he declared,

"I will take a name! If it means I can still fight to protect her!"

With a grin Akatosh reached over and placed a hand atop his head, "From this day forward you are no longer bound to those from before! I name you My Son, Michael Ravelin, Guardian-Warrior and husband to my daughter Kyrena Ravelin: Protect her well!"

With a push of his hand Michael disappeared as he was pushed back into his body with a new dark mark on his forehead.

Sighing with relief as he had a chance to give him his last gift for his daughter, as he looked out the wall to see a suspicious faintly glowing ball growing in size very slowly in the sky.

He sent a warning to those who still had connection with him in this space to stay inside the residential spaces for something odd may happen soon.

"I wish I could hold you again my dearest daughter… but that will have to wait until this is finished… Hope you like your birthday present!" With a weary smile Akatosh started his checklist of supplies of just in case projects as time resumed when Michael returned to his new body as Shana or how he now knows her given name Kyrena Ravelin slept peacefully curled upon his lap.
