Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Cultivation Begins

As I entered Class 1B, the room was buzzing with the chatter of students settling into their seats. The door creaked open, and Mr. Johnson, our instructor, walked in with an air of authority. He began his introduction with a firm yet engaging tone.

"Good morning, class. I am Mr. Johnson, and I'll be guiding you through the various types of cultivation. Today, we'll cover regular, demonic/heavenly, and system cultivations. If your goal is to be the strongest, you must consider integrating all these paths. This comprehensive approach involves tempering every aspect of yourself—soul, body, organs, skin, and blood—before advancing to the first martial path. Once you achieve this, you'll gain access to the Library of Martial Arts. One month later, you'll be sent to a world of your choice. For now, each of you will receive the materials needed to start tempering your bodies. You may begin your tasks. Class is dismissed."

With that, Mr. Johnson turned and walked out of the room, leaving us stunned. I couldn't believe how quickly he'd given us such a monumental task and then left. As the students dispersed, I made my way to the martial hall, curiosity and anticipation driving me forward.

The martial hall was a sprawling space filled with an impressive array of martial arts gear, weapons, arrays, pills, and other cultivation items. It was overwhelming but exhilarating. I knew my first priority was to temper my soul, so I set out to find soul tempering powder among the myriad of cultivation resources.

Since everything in the cultivation hall was free for us to use, I gathered the necessary materials and hurried back to my dorm. I prepared a tub of boiling water and mixed in the soul tempering powder. The moment I stepped into the scalding water, pain seared through me. I screamed in agony as the intense heat worked to cleanse and fortify my soul. Hours turned into days as I endured the relentless torment. It took four excruciating days to complete the soul tempering process.

Next, I focused on tempering my organs. This stage was even more grueling. I subjected my organs to destruction and constant reform, pumping life energy into my body to keep it functioning despite the damage. This grueling process stretched over two long months, but it was crucial to my advancement.

Finally, I returned to the martial hall, my body and soul now tempered and stronger than before. With renewed vigor, I searched for martial arts techniques that harnessed the power of fire. My goal was clear: to master fire-based martial arts and prepare myself for the challenges ahead.
