Zhe Village, Zichen .
In this unknown world, there are only men. The concept of male and female is very foreign and there is no way to explain that to the people here because females do not exist at all.
They were all what we in our own definition, describe as males or men but to them, even that term is foreign. The way they describe their sex is in two ways:Â
A Hem: Is basically what we term as a masculine man. They have great body built, height, speed and strength. They are expected to assume the same roles as our men do.
Since they cannot carry a human seed let alone give birth, their counterparts(mais) assume these roles. A married Hem is 'the husband' and one with an offspring is called a dad or dada or father . Plural is Hems.
A May: Is the feminine version of a Hem, that is what we will call as an 'effeminate man', but they are not women.
Remember, no woman exists in this world, though their expected roles are similar to women's.
A married may is called a moon and one with kids is called a papa or mama. They can carry human seeds and give birth to their offsprings. Plural is Mais.
In this country called Zichen, lies a village called Zhe. The names of all the towns and villages stem from the household names of the first families to settle in those villages when there was nothing but only vast lands.
The Zhe village now has a population of about seven hundred people and about fifty families. Their main occupation is farming. The people in this world speak only one language called Hemmais.
