The manor was oddly silent when I arrived.
I knew it was a workday and a school day so many of my relatives that called Durfort Manor home would either be in school or at work, but usually there were a few people that were home.
There were so many Durforts living here now that we had houses on the compound as well.
I was honestly surprised when Grandpa allowed me and Alexi to live outside of the property.
"Grandpa?" I called out as I pushed open the doors to his office.
"Ah, Lili, you're here!" Grandpa greeted as he stood up and gave me a hug. "I don't see you often enough anymore."
I smiled and shook my head, "You saw me last weekend when Alexi and I came over for family dinner."
"Too much people, not private enough," Grandpa grumbled.
"You visited us in our home after," I pointed out.
