"Thank you for giving the girls the day off," my wife said over the phone, making me smile.
I'd give her anything she asked for, no price was too steep for my wife's happiness.
A case in point was the situation before me. I was in the middle of our monthly corporate update when my phone rang and my wife's name flashed on the screen.
Lilith Harris, just seeing that name made me smile.
I lifted a hand and everyone stopped speaking while I took the call.
"Anything to make you happy, Lili," I asked as my senior management's eyes went wide with shock.
It was the first time anyone outside of family and group of friends ever heard me take a call from her.
They'd seen her at the ball, of course, but nothing as intimate as this.
"Is everything set for this afternoon," she asked me.
"Yes," I said as I drummed my fingers on the table, glancing at the ring.
