"What are you two doing?"

A familiar voice rang out behind them, startling both Xu Huang and Fu Hongchen. They turned quickly to see Tang San watching them with a playful smirk. Hastily, they said, "Nothing! We weren't intentionally spying!"

"Relax, I won't hold it against you. While my experiments are confidential, they're not something that can't see the light of day. Given the unique nature of martial souls, even if you find compatible ones in the future, achieving fusion is nearly impossible. The conditions for martial soul fusion are extremely strict—let alone the fusion of twelve people."

Tang San's smile turned devilish. "Of course, if you want to seek revenge for your loved ones, I welcome it."

"Just you wait!"

Xu Huang pursed her lips, silently vowing that one day, she would make Tang San do the hardest, most grueling work—till fields like an ox for the rest of his life.

Compared to the lively and audacious Xu Huang, Fu Hongchen was more mindful of their current status as "prisoners." He quickly pulled Xu Huang back and bowed deeply to Tang San. "Apologies, Holy Son. Xu Huang is spoiled and willful. I'll be stricter with her from now on."

"You're a bit too dull," Tang San remarked, glancing at Fu Hongchen's lowered gaze and shaking his head. "Although you're prisoners, you don't have to be overly restrained around me. As long as you don't violate moral boundaries or go against the aristocratic education you've received, you have quite a bit of freedom."

"Of course," he added, "there are certain aspects of that aristocratic upbringing you'd best forget for now. After all, you're no longer nobles."

Xu Huang's face darkened, and just as she was about to retort, Tang San walked away, not even sparing her another thought. Her anger flared. "What an irresponsible guardian! Isn't he afraid we'll escape?"

Fu Hongchen muttered under his breath, "We can't even leave Spirit City. How would we escape?"

"Shut up!"

Xu Huang snapped angrily, leaving Fu Hongchen wide-eyed: (⊙x⊙;)

After a while, Xu Huang took deep breaths to calm herself and suddenly came up with an idea. "What do you think about sowing discord?"

Fu Hongchen blinked, confused. "???"

"He's got several women, doesn't he? Women always want their man to be devoted only to them. Rivalries and comparisons—it's natural for everyone, and even more so for proud and powerful spirit masters. They're bound to clash…"

As Xu Huang listed her schemes, reminiscent of palace intrigue, Fu Hongchen broke into a cold sweat. But then again, Xu Huang, being a princess, had grown up witnessing the imperial court's intrigues, including the late emperor's harem affairs.

Still—

This didn't feel right.

Moreover, wasn't their initial plan to learn from Spirit City's advancements and systems? Sowing discord would take a lot of time.

"I've figured it out," Xu Huang declared confidently. "Tang San is the biggest obstacle on this continent. If we can deal with him, wouldn't that mean the Sun Moon Continent surpasses Douluo Continent? Besides, he said my brother's heart was pierced, and he went to another plane... That might actually be true. He's holding us, especially me, as leverage for when my brother potentially returns."

Though Xu Huang's reasoning sounded plausible, Fu Hongchen couldn't bring himself to believe her brother had gone to another plane.

How could His Majesty lose?

And having his heart pierced? Even more impossible!

That said, Fu Hongchen couldn't deny one thing: the first wave of troops sent to this continent had been utterly annihilated. Over the past few days, he had witnessed the Sun Moon Empire's soldiers being judged and executed, as well as Tang San sitting on the throne of Wisdom and Spirit Seal, commanding the battlefield with an aura that crushed the Sun Moon army with a single word.

The Douluo Continent was not the land of ignorant savages they had once thought. The Sun Moon Empire's invasion had not conquered it but instead awakened a sleeping titan. Now, the Douluo Continent had broadened its horizons and sharpened its fangs.

Before being captured, Fu Hongchen could proudly proclaim: The glory of the world will be forged by the Sun Moon Empire!

But now, that confidence was gone.

To the princess, the changes on this continent stemmed from Tang San—a notion widely accepted by most of Douluo Continent. Yet Fu Hongchen saw it differently. The change had already taken root. Even if Tang San were to vanish suddenly, the progress here wouldn't stagnate. His ideals had been passed down, and others would step forward to inherit and perfect his will and vision.

"What are you thinking about?" Xu Huang asked, clearly annoyed. Fu Hongchen had been unusually distracted ever since they arrived at the Soul Martial Estate and toured Spirit City.

"Nothing, just feeling like I've seen through something," Fu Hongchen replied, struggling to articulate the insights swirling in his mind. He felt both anxious and despairing.

Why despair?

Even Fu Hongchen wasn't entirely sure. He only knew that Spirit Hall's methods didn't suit the Sun Moon Empire. If they adopted such practices, the first to be targeted would be the imperial family itself.

The pope of the Spirit Hall and the emperor of the Sun-Moon Empire seemed like entirely different entities.

But how could he explain all this to the princess?

"Seen through? You're starting to sound like those retired old men back in the empire who mumble nonsense," Xu Huang said disdainfully before continuing, "Anyway, I'm going to give it a try. What if it works?"

"What are you two planning?"

Lan Yinzi suddenly appeared behind them, her tone cold. "Slacking off instead of working—do you even realize your position?"

"Miss Steward!" Xu Huang jumped in surprise but quickly forced a smile. "What brings you here? Fu Hongchen and I were just having a little private chat, you know, boyfriend and girlfriend stuff."

"Oh? Then why did I hear you talking about sowing discord?"

Lan Yinzi's playful smirk sent a chill down Xu Huang's spine.

As the Blue Silver Empress, Lan Yinzi's Spirit was intricately connected to Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor, granting her unparalleled control over the Blue Silver Network—second only to Tang San himself, surpassing even Xiao Wu in authority.

Without waiting for Xu Huang's flustered explanation, Lan Yinzi raised a thumb in mock admiration. "Bold. I like that about you. So—"

"From now on, forget about sweeping floors. You'll be one of my experimental subjects for array creation."

"Considering your courage, I'm sure you're not afraid of dying."

"No, no, no! I refuse! Please spare me, Sister Steward!" Xu Huang waved her hands frantically. "I'm still young! I don't want to die! I was wrong—please forgive me!"

"Too late," Lan Yinzi said with a dramatic sigh. "Don't worry, though—I won't let you die. After all, Tang San is your 'guardian,' and I wouldn't want to endanger you. It'll just hurt—a lot. To give you an idea, the mildest pain will feel like a mosquito bite. The most severe? The pain of childbirth. So at worst, you'll experience 'childbirth + mosquito bites.'"

Xu Huang was left utterly speechless, on the verge of tears.
