Days went by uneventful, after finishing with the water pumps Ryan visited the King's quarters and got paid his golden coins, he could tell that the man wasn't happy that he couldn't just take one other thing from his citizens.
He didn't take it kindly that the merchant law had ways to stop even him as someone who ruled over all.
Ryan came back and tried to force some of the gold coins on Levi which he denied, he still had plenty of money in his pockets and this family needed the money more than he did. But it didn't sit right with Ryan because it felt like he was being given handouts.
So he secretly stashed half of the gold coins in Levi's clothes, hoping that one day when he decided to leave them he would have something to lean on. Money went a long way in their world, it made every door open, he hoped it would help him somehow.
