As if on cue, they all stepped beyond the door at the same exact time. The darkness engulfed their tiny bodies but nothing happened yet.
"Is anyone still there?" Valerie asked because the silence was deafening.
"Fuck, is she gonna be like this all the way?" Levi commented taking off the scarf and tying it tightly on his wrist.
"I can't see!"
"Neither can we!" Conor chimed in.
Their eyes were usually able to see during the night but this was something else entirely. The darkness was all that existed here. The night usually had one or two things to make it less dark but this darkness was nothing like that. It felt very familiar.
Apart from not seeing Levi didn't mind much, darkness had a sense of comfort for him and this one surrounded him completely, he felt like he was being embraced by a parent.
"Can we at least hold hands before we walk? We wouldn't know the direction otherwise and we would get separated." She reasoned.
