"What!" Cayden exclaimed, a bit louder than intended and every customer in the cafe turned to look at him, making him red in embarrassment. He apologized to everyone for startling them and looked back at Darcy once again, who was standing on the opposite side of the counter.
"I can't," Cayden protested looking at Darcy who shook her head firmly.
"You have to, it's for your safety," she insisted strongly, and Cayden sighed, his face troubled.
"But-- but nothing has happened until now since I moved in that house, even when you were there, everything was normal," Cayden still had some room to argue, and Darcy acknowledged his words.
