Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Entering The Dungeon

Zoe discussed some matters with Luca and Xin for the next few minutes. A few minutes later, they were finally done with their discussion.

Xin walked forward and began to give a speech.

"Everyone before we go to the dungeon, let me tell you about our battle formation" Xin declared, his voice carrying seriousness.

The moment Lucius heard this, he knew that it was very important so he got everything out of his head and listened closely to the announcement.

"This dungeon mostly has beasts who specialize in close combat. Almost no lifeform inside the dungeon focuses on long-range combat.

Due to this, we will have to make sure that he kills any beasts before they get too close. This job will be left to the mages since mages specialize both in close combat and long-range combat.

In the middle of battle, the mages will stay behind Divine Warrior who will stop the beast from getting too close.

Also, the Divine Warrior will only engage in direct combat once the beasts get too close" Xin declared his voice carrying seriousness.

Upon hearing this, everyone nodded their head. Lucius was in deep thought as he deciphered the problems that he would face due to this combat style.

"I am a Divine Warrior so I probably won't get the chance to kill any beasts unless they get close.

If the mages take care of all the beasts, I won't get the chance to kill them hence not gaining any experience" Lucius thought to himself.

Lucius knew that he couldn't do anything about this so he just let out a sigh.

A second or two later, Luca stepped forward and made an announcement.

"Also I will be the commander of Divine Warrior so all the Divine Warrior shall heed my command during this raid.

If anyone has any objections then he may leave the raiding team right now" Luca declared as he looked at Lucius.

Lucius shook his head signaling that he had no objections, the other Divine Warriors also didn't pose any objections.

Luca nodded his head in satisfaction and fell silent as he retreated.

"The commander of of the mages will probably be Zoe" Lucius muttered under his breath.

A few seconds later, Zoe scanned the crowd from head to toe before she made the final announcement.

"Xin will be the commander of the mages as for myself. I will be the leader of the entire team, you must prioritize my commands over the commanders since I have higher authority than them." Zoe exclaimed as she scanned the entire crowd.

The crowd didn't pose any objections since all of them just nodded their heads in approval.

"If you are done with your announcement, can we now enter the dungeon?" Lucius asked, his voice carrying seriousness.

The crowd expected him to get scolded by Zoe but surprisingly he didn't.

"Yes, we will go right now," Zoe replied.

"However, you all must keep in mind that protecting the healer and the blacksmith of our team must be our top priority since they don't have any combat capability" Zoe declared, her voice carrying seriousness.

Everyone nodded their heads since they were aware of this fact. Even if Zoe didn't say anything they would have done just that.

"Lincoln it will be best for you to stay in the middle of the formation when we engage in combat" Lucius suggested to Lincoln who was standing beside him.

Lincoln just nodded his head in approval when he heard that.

"Follow us, we will be heading inside the portal leading to the dungeon" Zoe exclaimed as he started to walk towards the portal.

Everyone including Lucius, Luca, and Xin followed behind her. As they got closer and closer to the dungeon, the mana in the area got denser and thicker.

Lucius spotted the portal from the distance, a red barrier had engulfed the dungeon from top to bottom. There wasn't a single spot that had a hole in it.

"The portal is blue" Lucius exclaimed as he looked beyond the barrier.

Lucius examined the portal closely that was in the distance.

A few seconds later, he realized that mana was leaking out from the portal at an incredible speed which caused the mana in the surrounding area to become denser and thicker.

A few seconds later, Lucius turned his attention elsewhere. He saw dozens of guards patrolling the surrounding area.

They kept walking for the next few minutes. A few minutes later, a guard signaled them to halt their steps. So they quietly obeyed him.

"I wonder what he doesn't want from us now," Lucius thought to himself as he kept his eyes on the guard.

The guard walked towards him when he got close enough, he asked a question.

"Do you want to enter the dungeon?" The guard asked them.

They nodded their heads simultaneously since that's what they were here for.

"You will first have to get the permission to enter the dungeon and also sign a contract

You can get the permission if you fill in the necessary documents there, you will also have to pay some money to get the permission" The guard said to them as he pointed his finger towards a certain direction.

Lucius looked in the direction where he pointed, he spotted a small camp that had a big line.

"I guess, we will have to wait a long time until we can enter the dungeon," Lucius exclaimed, his carrying disappointment.

However, just as he thought that they would walk towards the table. Zoe took out a piece of paper from her bag. She extended a piece of paper towards him.

"We have long since signed the contract and got the permission to enter the dungeon. The piece of paper that I am handing is the proof.

Please carefully read and after you have confirmed the authenticity of the proof. Help us bypass the barrier" Zoe exclaimed, her voice carrying authority.

The guard didn't say anything much, he took the piece of paper from her hand and began to read the contents of the paper. A minute or two later, he folded up the paper.

"You have indeed gotten the permission to enter the Dungeon. Follow me, I will escort you to the portal" The guard said to them with a slight smile.

Zoe signaled the others to follow him.

"She has come prepared" Lucius exclaimed as he began to follow the guard along with the others.

They followed the guard for the next 5 minutes, the guard halted his steps when they were a few meters away from the barrier.

Lucius looked in front of him and saw that before them stood a big outpost which was at least a few dozen meters tall.

He saw a small tower in that direction. It looked like an outpost, the outpost was made up of wood and some kind of stone infused with mana.

Nearly a dozen guards were patrolling around the tower. In the middle of the outpost, there was a big gate that was tightly closed.

Beyond the gate, Lucius spotted a big opening of the barrier, Lucius assumed that they were going to enter the portal through that opening.

"Are we supposed to get past the barrier through that opening?" Lucius asked the guard.

The moment, he asked the guard this question. Everyone's attention was drawn towards the guards as they awaited his answer.

"Yes, this is the only way to get past the barrier and enter the Dungeon. Go and talk to the guards there when it's your turn.

Just show the documents you have shown me then you will be granted entry" The guard replied, his voice carrying seriousness.

When the others heard that, they nodded their head in approval.

"Let's go then" Zoe exclaimed as she began to walk towards the gate.

The other began to walk follow behind her. Lucius thanked the guard for his help and began to follow Zoe.

A minute or two later, they got a place in the line and waited for their turns. Lucius took a peak beyond the barrier and saw the portal standing in Lush green vegetation.

Lucius also saw two guards blocking the crowd from crossing the barrier.

They only allowed them to enter if the guard on his left side told them.

A few minutes later their turn arrived, and Lucius saw Zoe handing out some papers.

A few minutes later, they confirmed the authorization of documents.

"You may enter the portal now. The moment, you enter the dungeon, you will appear at an outpost built by our Kingdom.

There you will be given essential things needed to survive in the dungeon." The guard who took a look at his paper exclaimed.

The guard signaled the other guards to allow them to enter. The guards who were blocking their way moved away. Then Lucius along with his team members entered the barrier.

The mana became denser, the moment they entered. They hungrily absorbed the mana surrounding them

"AHAH, the mana here is so dense" Lucius muttered under his breath.

Lucius halted his steps along with the others a few seconds later when they were a few meters away from the barrier.

"Everyone, the moment you enter the Dungeon be very careful since anything can happen inside the dungeon" Zoe commanded them.

They nodded their heads in approval. Zoe took a deep breath and began to walk towards the barrier.

"Let's enter the dungeon" She exclaimed as she disappeared into the barrier.

The other stepped into the portal one by one. Lucius watched one by one, his teammates disappeared into the barrier.

"Let's go, Lucius," Lincoln said to Lucius.

He also took a deep breath and walked towards the portal and stepped inside the portal along with Lincoln, signaling the start of another epic journey.
