Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: The end of the spar

He uniquely channeled his mana as he charged towards Lucius.

"GreatSword art, First movement, great sword strikes."

When Aaron got close enough, then he began to launch devastating attacks directed towards Lucius. Lucius began to block the attacks.

The moment Lucius began to block the attacks, he lost the momentum needed to launch the first movement. He was forced into a defensive stance.

Lucius couldn't help but be shocked by the power that each strike held.

"His attacks are even more powerful than before, why is that?" Lucius exclaimed, he was shocked as he blocked the attacks of Aaron.

With each strike he blocked, small cracks appeared on his blade. However, he ignored them because they were not too serious.

Aaron smiled as he saw through his thoughts.

"This is the true first movement of Greatsword art. The one I taught you was just a weakened version of the first movement technique. Since you couldn't use your mana to learn it, I made some slight changes to adapt the technique for you.

As for why attacks are more powerful than before, it's because I was holding back previously" Aaron stated the truth as he kept striking Lucius.

When Lucius heard that, his eyes widened in disbelief.

"You were holding back this entire time! Your grade matches mine for now teacher so how are you exerting so much strength," Lucius thought to himself as he blocked the attack.

Aaron let out a smile and answered Lucius' question.

"This is due to the power of my sword art. Learning a strong weapon art or martial art will increase your strength tremendously and will allow you to exert power beyond your grade" Aaron's voice resounded through his ears.

A notification flashed in Lucius' retina right after Aaron's voice resounded through his ears.

(Your Summon, Flame Warrior has fully healed. Your summon can now move and execute your orders)

Just as he was about to give a new order to the summon and digest the information that he received. A large crack appeared on his sword as he blocked the fierce attacks of Aaron.

"Damn it" Lucius cursed when he saw the crack.

Aaron gripped his sword even more tightly and channeled more mana into the sword, when preparations to strike were done, Aaron swung his sword directed toward the big crack in Lucius' sword.

"It's over, Lucius, I have won the spar. But you have shown me excellent combat skills, it is not a surprise that you passed the Divinity exams.

After all this is over, I will teach you the true first movement of the great Sword art" Aaron exclaimed as he struck Lucius.

He struck his blade with so much force that his blade was sent flying away. Lucius' blade fell to the ground. Aaron's blade kept charging towards Lucius' face with no intention of stopping, however, Aaron's sword which was charging towards him stopped when it was a few cm away from his face.

"You have lost Lucius but you have fought well." Aaron declared as he stopped the sword.

Lucius let out a sigh when his sword broke.

"Yes teacher you have won, I knew from the start that defeating you would be next to impossible" Lucius exclaimed, his voice carrying frustration.

Lucius looked at the summon that was a few cm away from here, the flame warrior looked clueless as he waited for new orders from Lucius. There was a bitter look on Lucius' face as he looked at the summon.

Aaron noticed that he was looking in a certain direction so he also turned his attention in that direction.

"This…." Aaron became completely shocked when he looked in that direction.

The summon that he had destroyed was standing healthy without a care in the world.

"The summon should have disappeared the moment I slashed it. So the rumor that Lucius summons can heal themselves is true." Aaron exclaimed in complete shock as he looked at the summon.

Lucius didn't see the look on Aaron's face, he let out a sigh.

"I don't need him now so" Lucius exclaimed as he looked at the summon.

(You have canceled the summoning of Flame Warrior)

The Flame warrior that was standing alone away from them started to dissipate into countless small fragments of light that were emitting light.

After canceling the summoning, he held the floating book of creation in his hand

The dome that surrounded them also started to disappear, a notification flashed in his retina.

(You have failed the D- grade Quest, 1) The spar between a teacher and student)

(There is no penalty if you fail this quest)

"Well, the moment I received this notification. I knew that there was a high chance of failing the quest.

Though, if I could receive the exp then that would have been sweet." Lucius let out a sigh as he looked around him.

He saw people's attention drawn towards him but there wasn't any mockery on their faces instead there was only praise.

"Lucius, we watched your battle with Aaron and I must say that you have fought very well with Aaron despite being," A middle-aged Divinity said.

"Yes, I agree," Another one said.

"Lucius was said to be talentless but it looks like that his talent is not inferior to the progdies of the kingdom," Another one said.

Lucius smiled when he heard the compliments of the others. He shook his head.

"It's not enough, I will have to become stronger," Lucius exclaimed.

"Lucius, follow me to the training grounds of Divinities. I will teach you the true first movement of the Greatsword art" Aaron said to Lucius.

Lucius nodded his head in response, he got up. He picked up his sword that was lying on the ground.

"Lucius, you should throw away that sword since it's useless. That sword had lost its sharpness and durability over the years.

I will buy you a new sword today, consider a present from me to you for becoming a Divinity" Aaron said to Lucius with a smile.

"This sword is special to me. I will get it repaired and use it" Lucius replied with a firm look on his face.

The sword that Lucius was using was given to him as a gift by his father when he turned 13. He knew how much difficulty his father went through to purchase this so there was no way that he was going to discard it so easily.

Aaron nodded his head when he saw the firm look on Lucius' face. Aaron began to walk towards the training grounds.

"Follow me," Aaron said to Lucius.

Lucius nodded his head and began to follow him. A few minutes of walking later, they reached a gate that was tightly closed up.

"Make sure to wear your Divine badge or else you won't be able to enter," Aaron said to Lucius as he walked towards the gate.

Lucius followed closely behind, when Aaron was close enough, he put his hand on the door and channeled mana into it slightly.

The door glowed for a few seconds before it started to open up. The door which were tightly shut slowly began to open up. In a few seconds, the doors had opened up completely.

Lucius saw a big open field that had the same tiles and walls as the previous room he was in. Lucius saw hundreds of people training there.

"Let's go inside," Aaron said to Lucius as he walked into the room.

Lucius nodded and followed Aaron. The moment he walked into the room, he saw some Divinities practicing their weapon arts while some were practicing their mana control. The common thing that everyone shared was that they were training diligently.

The eyes of a few Divinities in the area were drawn towards them.

Aaron stopped walking when he found a fairly empty spot. The training grounds were very big so finding an empty spot was not difficult at all.

Lucius also simultaneously stopped walking and he looked around him. He saw there was anyone around them in a radius of 10 meters.

"Are you going to teach me the true movement of the Greatsword art here?" Lucius asked.

"Yes, I am going to perform the true first movement of the great sword art. So watch carefully." Aaron exclaimed as he took out his sword.

Lucius focused his eyes on Aaron, not daring to even miss the slightest details.
