"It's dark. I cannot see anything, why can't I move"? 

Huā liàng tried to move again but the space felt small which made it hard to move, then she heard a soft voice, "Oh dear baby are you anxious to come meet me? Mom needs you to hold on a bit longer, dad is not here and we need to stay strong."

"Mom?!!!"

In her confusion Hua Liang did not know who was speaking but it definitely calmed her down. She tried opening her eyes and mouth, but her eyes were shut tight and felt like heavy lead once she tried to open them. Hua Liang's last memory remains when she was on the streets selling flowers. Hua Liang was 5 years old and an orphan. She was left on the orphanage doorstep on a cold winter night.

Hua Liang was different from other children, she did not like to smile, she did not cry and made trouble and hardly communicated with the other children in the orphanage. 

That's why when parents came for adoption, although Hua Liang was beautiful, they did not want to adopt her. What nobody knew was that Hua Liang could remember things vividly since she was 1 years old and had a high IQ of 200. Her high intelligence led to her disconnect with the other kids in the orphanage. She also possessed a mysterious power to feel other peoples emotions around her, and could identify those who both liked and feared her. 

Although Hua Liang was cold and quiet, she always wanted a place to belong to. She craved the warmth and attention that other kids received. Hua Liang did have a small friend name Hana, who was her polar opposite. Hana was bubbly, lively, a very talkative child. She loved being with Hua Liang and was in charge of doing all the talking when they were together. For Hua Liang, Hana was a special existence and one of the few bright lights in her short life.

That's why when the orphanage was in need of donations, she and her friend would go out to sell flowers and candy so they could have extra money to feed everyone. As she was selling flowers, she saw Hana crossing the street without looking as an incoming vehicle was coming down the street at a high speed.

Hua Liang did not understand what was going on, but she knew she did not want something to happen to her friend. She ran as fast as her little stubby legs could go and pushed her friend out of the way and the last thing she saw was the sight of the incoming car. The next thing was the feeling of being in a closed space, with the inability to see or speak, but she did not panic, just tried to move around to see where she was.
