Chapter 7 - Chapter 4 Part 2

- Felix -

It's been three months since I arrived at Milim's domain. I've had a good time here so far except for a few things, my visit could be considered almost perfect.

The Dragon Faithful are fun sparring partners and Milim herself is a beast when it comes to combat.

I shiver as I imagine how much harder it would be to fight her without Infinity.

I was able to learn a few new things from Milim and the Dragon Faithful, apparently the humans created a method of classifying monsters and majin's threat levels called Danger Levels. Though they classify monsters by their overall magicule capacity rather than their combat capabilities.

The ranks go from Hazard-class, monsters that can destroy entire towns and require the movement of a nation's knights to defeat, Calamity-class, a threat level where monsters can bring down entire countries, Disaster-class, a class generally reserved for Demon Lords, beings whose influence can rival that of a large countries. When a Demon Lord is accepted into the council they are immediately issued a Disaster-class ranking, so if a chicken becomes a Demon Lord well….

Then finally Catastrophe-class, a classification for threats considered too large for any singular western nation to handle.

Though it is also incredibly inaccurate due to political interference.

There is also another system that is much more widely used throughout the world called the Free Guild System.

Basically it ranks a monster's threat level based on a few factors, magicule capacity, physical strength, defensive capabilities, speed, skills, and intelligence. A much more accurate ranking system if you ask me.

The ranks go from F Rank, basically a ranking for those with no combat capabilities, E Rank, a rank assigned to those with about the same level of power as an average human adult, D Rank, a rank assigned to those who are about as strong as soldier, often requiring at least 3 - 4 average humans to defeat.

C Rank, a rank for those who are as strong as an experienced soldier that has professional training, B Rank, a rank for beings that can single handedly wipe out a village, so I was around this level as a Lesser Daemon. A Rank is a rank for those who can severely damage an entire town, around the level of my Greater Daemon self.

Special-A Rank, a rank for those that can destroy a small sized nation, around the level of my Arch Daemon self. S Rank, a rank assigned to Demon Lords and those of equivalent power, and finally Special-S Rank, a ranking assigned to those no single nation can handle.

I would probably just barely fit into this category along with the other True Demon Lords, True Dragons would also fit in this rank so you can tell that there are a variety of strength levels in this rank.

However even with this system a lot of beings aren't accurately ranked, after all even Milim is ranked as an S Rank rather than a Special-S Rank.

Most of the Dragon Faithful are probably around C Rank with some being at B Rank, and even fewer at A Rank.

I've mostly been sparring with Middray and Hermes, both Dragonewts and the Head Priest of the Dragon Faithful and his assistant respectively, they both worship Milim as their god.

I was also able to improve my Martial Arts using Limitless.

When I attack someone with Martial Arts I would use Blue at the midpoint of my target and my fist which would draw my fist and the target together much quicker, and then the moment I hit them I use Red to enhance the force I launch them with.

I've learned that Limitless is extremely well suited for hand to hand combat. I do enjoy swordsmanship but I've decided to focus on hand to hand for now.

Maybe when I'm just trying to have a fun battle I can rely on my swordsmanship, that or when I don't need to take a fight seriously.

Milim's domain itself is centered around the Central Temple, where all crops and goods are collected and evenly distributed among everyone by Middray. Using this system they make sure everyone, even non-workers have enough to get by. Though those who work hardened are given extra.

Apparently Middray has quite a bit of power though he is kept in check by the other priests who have the authority to dismiss him from his position.

There was one significant issue though.

The Dragon Faithful don't eat their meals cooked.

They eat raw meat and seem to be perfectly content with that.

Man no wonder Milim said she never shows up for meal time.

I myself haven't shown up for it either once I discovered that, thankfully I don't need to eat as a Spiritual Being but Saeko does so I accompany her.

We usually end up just hunting some beasts and cook it up with a bit of spices Hermes was able to acquire when he visited the human countries.

One thing I learned was that Saeko's cooking is horrendous. If I didn't already have Abnormal Condition Nullification I likely would have acquired Poison Resistance

I don't think I have ever seen or tasted something as bad as the poison she makes.

I had to sit her down and tell her to her face that she should never be in a kitchen again.

Fortunately or maybe unfortunately she decided that she would improve and impress me with her cooking.

She even said she didn't want my help so she has been practicing on her own, though from what I've seen she hasn't improved at all.

Speaking of Saeko, after her evolution she became much much stronger than she was before. She also got much more attractive with a less monstrous appearance.

If I had to say she could destroy a small country on her own, Special-A Class.

Her race changed from an Ogre into a Kijin, a race that is closer to their roots as a race descended from Fire Elementals.

Saeko said she wanted to become my assistant, basically she wanted to become my secretary.

I told her that wasn't something I needed, but she was committed, oh well, not like anything bad can come of it.

I was able to boost her strength a bit by giving her a better Ōdachi, now that I'm a Daemon Duke I was able to create much stronger weapons though nothing compared to Milim's own weapon.

There are a few ranks when it comes to equipment, Normal Grade which is the standard equipment, nothing special about them. Special Grade weapons are usually enchanted with some type of magic.

Rare Grade, weapons that have stronger enchantments and can generally boost weaker beings' strength considerably. Unique Grade, the best equipment on the market. After that is Legend Grade, these weapons are generally Unique Grade weapons with magisteel in them that have been exposed to highly concentrated magicules and according to Milim the rank above that is God Grade which is incredibly rare.

She only knew of a handful of people who had a God Grade weapon.

Milim's own weapon is a God Grade weapon called Asura.

A few other things happened like Veldora's aura disappearing all of a sudden about two months ago.

I asked Milim about it and she just said it's fine, he'll turn up eventually.

I was surprised she didn't care as apparently Veldora is her uncle though I guess I shouldn't compare a bunch of immortal beings' relationships to human ones.

I've been keeping my Aura mostly contained ever since I evolved into a Daemon Duke, but it's beginning to be a haste.

Dameons in general have perfect control over their own magicules so containing my Aura itself wasn't an issue. The issue was that it feels really constricting, as if I'm holding something back which at first isn't an issue, but overtime it becomes annoying.

Eventually It'll become annoying enough for me to release all of my aura, completely unrestrained which would easily level an entire country.

To prevent this I've been leaking a little bit of my aura at all times rather than keeping it all sealed away.

Doing that has been a big help.

Other than that not much has happened, though I did spar with Millim a little while ago, and man was that intense.

- Flashback -

I look straight ahead as I carefully watch Milim to see what she'll do.

Once she challenged me to a spar and I agreed we went to the middle of nowhere so we don't accidentally damage anything.

She knows she can't get past Infinity as she doesn't have any counters to it that she is willing to use, I'm not sure why she wanted to spar knowing that, probably just to kill time.

Thankfully Milim isn't the type to use an Anti-Magic Area so I don't need to worry about that hindering Infinity.

I'm not complaining, maybe I can see what Milim is truly capable of.

We've been fighting for an hour now, it's mostly just been Milim trying out new ways to get past Infinity and me attacking her when she's doing so.

We destroyed the majority of the surrounding landscape, a single Hollow Purple made a city sized hole in the ground and it felt like I barely put any magicules into it.

Currently she is trying to punch me.

All of a sudden she vanishes and appears right behind me, "Milim Punch!"

Seriously that's what you call it, well it fits Milim.

I don't bother dodging as Infinity stops her blow from hitting me.

"Gah! That ability of yours is annoying you know? Hmm I guess I'll start being a little serious now."

As she said that I notice a red aura starting to appear around her, her strength shot up by multiple magnitudes.

What the fuck kind of skill is that?

'Can you copy that Odin?'

'It is already being analyzed.'

I see, I guess it makes sense that it would take a little longer to copy an Ultimate Skill.

I watch as Milim takes her so-called Battle Mode and flies higher into the air.

I could feel her gathering an absurd amount of energy in the form of a sphere.

What the fuck is that!

What kind of magic is that?

'Answer. It has been detected that Milim is using True Dragon Magic, a type of magic intrinsic to True Dragons.'

True Dragon Magic? That has to be strong.

I watch as she aims her attack and shouts, "Drago-Nova!"

I take this chance to teleport out of the way, I'm not going to take chances with that kind of magic if I don't have to.

I watch as a massive beam of pure energy destroys the surrounding area, I could easily see an attack like that wiping out a country.

What the fuck Milim!?

"Hey, that could've hurt me, you know!"

"Bhahaha, it's fine, I would've made sure you wouldn't get hurt. Ah it's so much fun fighting like this!"

"Yeah, yeah, I enjoyed myself too, it's nice to relax and just cause mass destruction like this."

"Umu, I knew you would get it! You're my bestie after all."

Ultimate Skill: Satanael, Lord of Wrath has been analyzed.

Ultimate Skill: Satanael, Lord of Wrath has been gained.

All of a sudden I feel a deep pain inside of me, I don't know where but I can feel something is wrong.

I could hear a voice as my consciousness was slipping away.

The Ultimate Skill: Odin, Lord of Cursed Knowledge has detected that the soul has begun deteriorating due to strain.

Odin has sealed The Ultimate Skill: Satanael, Lord of Wrath as a result.

Completing Process.

- Present -

A little bit after that I woke up in my bed, man was I surprised at what happened.

I didn't know that there was a limit to how many Ultimate Skills you could have.

Who knows what would've happened if it wasn't for Odin.

'Seriously thanks Odin, you're a lifesaver.'

'Odin was simply doing its duty.'

I was able to learn more about Ultimate Skills themselves throughout that fight though.

Ultimate Skills from what I have learned are basically Unique Skills taken beyond the limit.

Just wielding an Ultimate Skill gives the user an inherent status, having one grants the user the ability to control the very laws of nature if they will it, though that varies from skill to skill.

As it says in the name, Ultimate Skills are the Ultimate Power. As I have learned the only way to challenge an Ultimate Skill wielder is with an Ultimate Skill of your own or something equivalent to it.

Unfortunately it seems that I'm going to have to wait until I further evolve to acquire more Ultimate Skills to study.

At least I still have other things to learn, like Nuclear Magic.

I was able to learn some new applications of Nuclear Magic thanks to Odin and Milim.

Odin really makes learning anything super easy, I'm getting spoiled by it.

Anyways Milim mentioned a spell that Guy Crimson has used in the past and using her description of the attack Odin was able to recreate it.

Thanks to Odin I was able to learn the spell that it called Death Streak.

Quite the menacing name if you ask me.

Basically to use it you crush the Abyss Cores that you use when using Nuclear Magic.

The waves it releases agitate spiritrons causing them to release radiation in the form of Dark Light.

The Dark Light bypasses all physical and magical obstacles, rewriting the genes of living beings and causing their death.

It even destroys the souls of all the living beings in its radius.

Even the user of the spell can take damage as the Dark Light does not discriminate between friend and foe.

So I can't use it when I have allies around.

According to Odin the only way to counteract the Dark Light is with another equal Dark Light.

The only beings with potential of surviving it are Spiritual Lifeforms or those that can store their memories within their souls and regenerate their bodies.

Though apparently there is a one in a million chance of someone surviving it due to their soul adapting to the Dark Light, something that will turn the individual into a monster.

Thankfully the Dark Light can be toned down to only target genes and not souls.

Man Nuclear Magic can be scary when it is explored properly.

Along with Nuclear Magic I was finally able to do some experimenting with Barrier Magic.

I was able to confirm that Anti-Magic Area worked on someone as strong as Saeko so that's a good sign.

I wonder what other sort of applications of it Odin and I can come up with.
