I'm not given the chance to react in any form or manner, before pain consumes me.
But as opposed to the pain coming from my neck, it instead finds residence at my back.
It had taken me a second, but I soon realized I was jerked backwards by some invisible force and slammed onto the car.
Before I come to, the commotion before me halts, leaving no sound to a degree that I felt the world had frozen in place.
When I open my eyes, I find Darius holding the Chinese wolf in place and at once relief grapples onto me.
A relief which soon dies away when I see Darius widening his mouth and elongating his fangs.
With only seconds left before Darius chomps down, I force whatever strength I have within myself to the surface, and I scream.
"Don't!"
Darius halts a second away from the wolf's neck, then he stares at me.
