The sound of a blood curdling scream fills the air as I sit in my room doing my final thesis for my university entry. I have been counting down the days that I can leave this joke of a family and spread my wings and step out of the Kim family shadow. Growing up with three brothers that are all as smart as they are handsome, I was constantly in some invisible competition with them. They were also overly protective of me, my eldest brother Knox the most protective and the one who spoilt me rotten. When he took over the family multibillion empire it didn't stop. Knox was six foot and looked like a God standing tall amongst people who wanted to be by his side. He had an obsession with working out just like my other two brothers, the three wanting to be healthy and live longer. Knox had a cold and stand offish personality to those that he didn't have a close relationship with. There was a time in my life that I wouldn't think that Knox would be against me, little did i know that three years ago not only would I lose my parents but I would also lose Knox, Lynx and my twin brother Orion.
The night of the car accident our parents driver had risked his life to try and safe our parents, leaving behind his daughter. Knox and my brothers decided that they would bring her into our family, which I agreed with at first. That was until I quickly realised that Haley had an ulterior motive. She wanted my family and its fortune and that meant there was no room for me.
Over the past three years she has blamed me for every injury she has suffered and my brothers who once protected me, now believe I am jealous and trying to harm her. The shopping trips stopped and were now something that Haley got to enjoy, my birthday was now something that her and Orion celebrated together. There was simply no room in this family for me anymore and today is the day I finally leave. Today being the day I can legally look after myself and my inheritance clears. Thankfully my dad's lawyer can see what is going on and protected my assets taking them away from the family home and keeping them from not only my brothers but also Haley. They haven't even noticed that I have slowly moved my belongings out of the room a month ago, my best friend Aera taking them to our new apartment and getting everything set up. Tonight I am only here to get the last of my things before i say goodbye to the home I have spent eighteen years of my life in and to the family that longer see me as a member.
The sound of Knox's voice calling me has me quickly hitting send on my laptop before I close it down and get up off my kingsize bed and putting it in my black backpack. I take one last look at everything making sure that it is left as empty as i have felt the past three years before turning off the light and leaving the room. As I walk down the long hallway and down the stairs I see my three brothers sitting on the sofa with a distraught looking Haley. I can't help but sigh as the housemaid, Lana looks at me with sympathy. She had witnessed and been at the brunt of Haley's viciousness herself so she know that whatever is going on my brothers are completely blind to it. Who knew they had a thirst for green tea.
"Olympia I have had enough of your acting out. Haley is apart of this family whether you like it or not. If you can't except that then leave"
Haley looks at me, a smirk sitting on her thin lips. The girl always reminds me of that mythical woman Lilith, someone who appears angelic yet she had cast a spell on human kind and was actually a woman of chaos, seduction and destruction. If anyone was the reincarnation of her it was definitely Haley.
"Okay" I simply shrug at my so called brothers, the three people who had swore blind on my parents death beds that they would always be there for me, yet turned on me in a short period of time. I don't say a word, I simply turn on my heal and walk toward the large black oak doors that lead out of this house and to my new found freedom. The sound of Haley pretending to be upset about my leaving filling my ears. I can't help but chuckle darkly as my brothers all call me spoilt and that she is their main priority.
I walk to where my personalised Lamborghini black motorcycle, a red Chinese dragon with gold detailing on the body. I quickly get on it and put on my helmet, i send a quick text to Aera and my lawyer telling them that this phone is now inactive. If i am breaking away I am breaking away completely. If my brothers want to lose everything from supporting a stranger then so be it. As I start the throttle I hear the door open and turn to see Orion looking at me pained, Knox and Lynx looking just as anxious. I shake my head in disappointment before putting the visor down and setting off down the long drive. The security guards at the gate bow their heads as the let me out, unaware that this will be the last time I see any of them.
I open up the throttle as soon as I hit the main road heading for the airport and to my new life out of China and starting my own career. My brothers nowhere near me to cause me anymore pain. I will prove them all wrong and make them regret the day that they chose someone else over their own flesh and blood. The Kim brothers will rue the day they broke their promise.
