The mood in the dimly lit room was stifling as Yara leaned against the wall, arms crossed tightly over her chest, her face a carefully blank mask. Across the room, Val spoke in low tones with Sky, their conversation seemingly light-hearted but entirely excluding her. Val's dismissive behaviour earlier had left her reeling—she hadn't expected him to brush her off so coldly after all they'd endured together. Yet here he was, deep in conversation with Sky, while her presence was scarcely acknowledged.
Sky, however, had caught onto the tension in the air and seemed unwilling to let it go unnoticed. With his ever-present smile, he glanced her way, eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint "Miss human, you look like you could use a little sunshine. You too, Val—try not to freeze the room, alright?"
Val scowled, shifting his weight uncomfortably. "I don't freeze rooms."
