A gasp of excitement escaped her lips. "I found it!"
Her fingers dug deeper, nails scraping against the bark.
With a final pull, she tore away the last of the wood, revealing the faint, glowing shell of the second egg.
"There you are…" she whispered, her eyes widening in awe as the soft glow intensified. The egg's surface was smooth, pale blue with veins of light coursing through it like the roots of the tree itself.
The egg in the air wiggled excitedly, pulsing in sync with the one embedded in the tree. Yara smiled, her breath catching in her throat. "Looks like your sibling is happy to see you."
She carefully reached into the hollowed space, fingers brushing against the cool surface of the egg. It felt almost warm to the touch, vibrating with energy. She gently wrapped her hands around it, trying to dislodge it from the roots that seemed to be clinging to it.
"Come on," she coaxed softly, her voice low. "Let go, you're coming with us."
