Chapter 10 - 11. Are You Selling Your Hotel?

Dalton was in the private room, enjoying the most luxurious food in the world.

It felt so good to be rich.

Before this, he dared not even dream of eating such food.

He was vigorously wolfing down the food when someone opened the door to the private room.

Dalton thought that the visitor was Lydia, so he said. "Lydia, come and try some."

When he turned around, however, he saw a man in his 30's walking over to him. Lydia was tailing behind, and there was another man in his late 40's in front of her. Save for Lydia, Dalton didn't recognize the two.

However, seing the slightly downcast expression on Lydia's face and noticing the reddened eyes, Dalton hand and idea of what was happening.

"Greetings, Mr. Liddle. I'm the boss of this place, Brian Cummings. Mr. Liddle, are you satisfied with the food and service here? If there's anything you need, just say the word and we'll do our best to meet your expectations." Said Brian courteously as he walked over to Dalton.

He was quite interested in Dalton. He assumed that Dalton hailed from rich family for him to spend 100 million on food and entertainment at such a young age. He decided that there was no harm getting to know Dalton and being friends with the latter.

He was a businessman, so the more friends he had, the more connection he would have as well. Golddenn hotel was simply one of his properties; he was running many other business at the same time. As such, he might have the chance to partner with Dalton or his family.

"Hello, Mr. Cummings. I'm quite satisfied with this place."

"I'm glad to hear it. I also heard that you're a top student at Rochdale University, right? You're so talented for your age." Brian said respectfully.

"Yes! I'm not that talented, though. I know very well the limit of my abilities."

"You're too modest, Mr. Liddle. Rochdale University is one of the top five Universities in the entire country. Anyone who can get in there would definitely emerge as an elite of their respective fields. This is my card. If you have anything you need my help with, you can just give me a call, Mr. Liddle."

Brian passed a shimmering golden name card to Dalton.

"Mr. Cummings, there's something I want to ask you about." Taking the name card, Dalton spoke.

"Go ahead, Mr. Liddle."

"Are you selling your hotel?"

"Huh?" Brian was a little stunned at the question.

He wasn't the only one. Behind him Finlay and Lydia were shocked as well.

"You must be kidding, Mr. Liddle." Brian smiled as he spoke.

"Do I look like I'm kidding? If you're selling your hotel, I'm buying it. There's nothing to joke about here." Dalton said in all seriousness.

"Mr. Liddle, you should know that more than ten billion was used just to build this hotel, and the price of the land isn't included in the sum. Are you sure you want to buy it, Mr. Liddle?"

"Of course! If you're selling it, just quote a figure. If not, forget about it."

Brian stared at Dalton for a while. He felt like he couldn't quite understand this kid who was more than a decade younger then him. He could understand spending 100 million on food and entertainment, but now, Dalton was asking him if he was selling his hotel.

Not many people could produce a few hundred million in cash, and only a rare few would be able to produce ten billion. Even if Dalton's family had hundred of billion in property, they definitely wouldn't let him fool around like this.

Could it be that he's the heir of one of those hidden great families? Only such people dare to gamble like this. Brian thought in his heart.

"Mr. Liddle, if you truly want to buy it, it's not impossible. Still, I have to discuss this with the other directors. After all, this hotel doesn't belong to me alone. Still, I have to remind you, Mr. Liddle, that we're asking for cash."

"Go ahead and ask! Give me an answer as soon as possible." Dalton said, a nonchalant look on his face.

"Alright. Enjoy your meal, Mr. Liddle. I'll give you an answer shortly." With that, Brian turn around and left the private room.

Finlay left as well.

Lydia was about to leave as well, but Dalton call out to her.

"Lydia, wait. I have something to tell you."

Lydia hesitated for a bit, then decided to stay in the end. She could abandon her job, but she couldn't displease someone rich like Dalton.

Just now, when Dalton spoke of purchasing the hotel, she was truly shocked since it would require ten's of billions in cash.

If Dalton really bought it, judging by their relationship for the past two days, he definitely wouldn't fire her. In fact, she might even have the chance to be promoted.

She was now earnestly hopping that her boss would sell this hotel to Dalton, and that Dalton would really have the financial power to buy it. The boss has his eyes on her, so if the hotel didn't change owner, she probably couldn't keep her job anymore.

Meanwhile, Brian returned to his office and took out his phone. He navigated to WhatsApp and send a message in a group consisting of only four people.

'Guys, someone wants to buy over Golddenn hotel in Kuastead. Do we sell it?'

Soon, someone named Billy Hayes responded with a text that read, 'Who is it? How bold of him.'

Brian replied. 'A University student named Dalton Liddle. He's attending a university in Kuastead.'

Tom Allen replied. 'A University student? Have you been dupped, Cummings? Where would a university student ten's of billions to buy our hotel?'

Billy echoed. 'I think so too!'

Brian responded. 'Do I look like someone who's easily dupped?'

A certain John Hill chimed in. 'Yes'

Brian typed. 'Stop joking and let's get to business. Are we selling it or not? He's still waiting for my reply.'

Billy said. 'It's up to you. You're the biggest shareholder, after all.'

Brian argued. 'Your shares combined are even greater than mine! If I want to sell it, but all of you disagree, I can't do anything about it, can I?'

Tom said. 'Is he really buying it? Who exactly is he? Are you sure he can afford it?'

Brian replied. 'He should be the real deal. Just yesterday, he spent 100 million at his membership card at the hotel for food and entertainment.'

Tom responded. 'If that's the case, then he's probably serious about it. Who do you think he is, to be able to fork out so much cash at a young age?'

Billy said. 'He could be the heir of one of those hidden families. What do you think, John? You've interacted with those heirs before, right?'

John replied, 'If he really can produce ten's of billions in cash to purchase Golddenn hotel, he's most probably one of them. They're usually let out into the world to train, and when the time is ripe, they're inherit a part of the family property.'

Brian suggested. 'Should I invested him?'

John warned, 'Don't! If you're found out, you'd be dead before you know it.'

Brian exchaimed. 'Are they really that amazing? We live in a modern society; are you sure you're not exaggerating?'

John replied, 'There are some things you simply cannot know the severity of if you've never come into contact with them. Their power is terrifyingly massive! If an opportunity comes along, I'll definitely show you guys.'

Tom said, 'I've always been itching to see for myself how powerful these hidden people are.'

Billy chimed in, 'Me too.'

Brian replied, 'Fine! Are we selling Golddenn hotel or not?'

John asked, 'What is the price that he's asked for?'

Brian replied, 'He wants me to name a price.'

John replied, 'What about you two? I'm okay with anything. You guys can make the decision. I'm not particularly in need of money either. If the transaction is successful, I want to get to know this guy.'

Tom suggested. 'I think we can sell it for 18 billion. It took about 12 billion for the hotel to be built ang everything, and we've also earned back billions this years. 18 billion would be twice the profit. I just so happen to have a project on my hand, so we can invest the money in that.'

Brian asked, 'What project is it?'

Tom replied. 'It hasn't been implemented yet. When the time comes, we can find a time to gather and discuss.'

Billy said. 'Looks good to me. Cummings, just tell him you're selling the hotel for 20 billion. If he haggles, keep the price at 18 billion, and declined the purchase if it goes lower than that.'

Brian answered. 'Alright, I'll quote 20 billion and see how he responds. I'll be off now. I'll give you guys and update later.'

After the discussion, Brian got ready to go downstair and quote the price.
