Kiera contemplated the juicy and delicious piece of steak in front of her and wondered how this was her life now.
She had to prepare for hours to get ready for an event that was over in 30 minutes. All that fuss and all that drama all for her to get a quick introduction from the host and saying her practiced lines; "I feel honored to get to be a part of this production." And "I look forward to learning from my seniors and the crew on set."
Two sentences and for the rest of the time she acted fully absorbed and focused at anyone who was talking. She gently laughed and clapped along with everyone at the right moments. She was a proper supporting character on that stage.
In a way everyone became the supporting character up there. All the media wanted was to know more about Anastasia.
"Why did you decide to get out of retirement?"
"My kids have grown annoyed at my hovering and they decided I needed to get out of the house. So here I am."
