Chapter 24 - Chapter 23

The next week flew by like a whirlwind. Due to her impulsive bout of pettiness she had to deal with her new purchase – the gaudy looking flat. She had to call in contractors to check the place and an interior decorator to at least make the place livable with the least possible alterations. She never realized how much work is needed to get a place ready to be occupied.

And because she had enough of dealing with everything, she hired Ms. Reed to be her agent to deal with the mess. She gave Ana only one instruction, to make sure the place is no longer an eyesore and to only call or email her for decisions above her pay grade. That was one problem out of her mind.

During the week she had a marathon of meetings with her new lawyer who had gone on to have several meetings with Onyx to discuss her contract. Kiera was informed that Onyx was quite generous and with how pleased her lawyer and Thea were, she concluded that the contract can be called a success.

By Friday, she had signed the contract and that was it. She was going to sink or swim with Onyx for the next 5 years. The idea was scary and thrilling at the same time.

With that signed contract she was then given the keys to her new accommodations, a two-bedroom flat in one of the gated communities at the west of the city. The place came fully-furnished and with a tub. It was so much better than her old place.

She didn't bother hiring a moving company and just moved the few boxes of her belongings through Eileen and Thea. She left the rest of the furniture behind for the landlord to do what he will. She was just happy to say goodbye to the place.

She, her sisters and Nan, their supposed to be retired nanny, had a little get together as a house warming. Over all, it was a brilliant end to the week.

The first two weeks of her start at Onyx had her going to training from morning to night. Morning was intermediate acting training, like voice regulation, positioning and camera sense. The trainers have been merciless and barely let them rest in between sessions.

And in the afternoon, she had one on one training with Sophia for what they called her villainess training. And to be honest the afternoon sessions were way more tiring but so much more interesting.

Sopia worked with her on her micro-expressions. How to express disdain from a quirk of her lips. How a quirk of a brow can change how she conveyed disbelief.

They also worked on her angles. "There will be several scenes where you would need to project just the right image for the situation. You need to catch people's eye towards what you want them to see. Do you want them to notice your legs or your waist or your hands?

"For instance, if you step out of a car you will need to ensure there is a good view of your legs and yet you remain modest. Walking into a scene is also vital. Most villainess characters are considered the second female lead and there will be plenty of entrance scenes you will need to prepare for. You cannot have 20 takes of you just opening a door. Do that and no director would wish to work with you."

Then they proceeded to do various scenes again and again.

Voice modulation and tone regulation was another thing Sophia drove into her.

Sophia was of the thought that the best way to teach was to have her students do it over and over. And she was relentless, she expected perfection in every action.

On their first session, Sophia asked Kiera for her shoe size and they went on with a grueling session. The next day, Kiera was offered several types of shoes from, tennis shoes, kitten heels to sky high stilettos. She then had to do various scenes in different shoes.

And even in her sleep she had no respite, she can hear Sophia barking at her, "One more time!" and "We have gone through this already! Again!"

The short two weeks had her losing five kilograms, which alarmed Eileen and Thea to no end. Kiera just waved them off and assured them that she was eating healthy and well and there was no need to worry. She explained that the office cafeteria had a variety of choices and its menu was different every day. And the food was actually very good. Which she was extremely thankful for, for she had spent all her meals there.

This didn't stop her sisters from snitching on Nan, who immediately gone to visit and nag Kiera. Nan also went ahead and filled her fridge with fruits and vegetables and placed in the freezer some quick meals she can reheat.

It wasn't necessary but it warmed her heart to know there were people who cared about her.
