Chapter 1: Shadows in Plain Sight
The moon hung low in the Ravenshade sky as Alex Harper returned, drawn by an anonymous tip about the town's hidden mysteries. Under the dim glow of streetlights, Alex navigated the cobblestone streets, shadows stretching across the familiar landscape.
The night air carried a tangible unease as Alex found themselves standing outside an old bookstore with an eerie charm. As they peered through the dusty window, a bell chimed overhead as the door creaked open. The scent of ancient paper filled the air as Alex entered, and a soft voice greeted them from the shadows.
"Seeking answers, are you?" said the mysterious figure, shrouded in darkness.
Startled but curious, Alex replied, "I've heard there's more to Ravenshade than meets the eye. Do you know anything about it?"
The figure, revealed to be the bookstore's owner, Ms. Eleanor Blackwood, who wore a dark dress that held her hour glass figure tightly and highlighted her think waist and sinful body, smiled knowingly. "Ravenshade has a history that whispers through the pages of forgotten books. But some stories are best left untouched."
As the conversation unfolded, Ms. Blackwood shared tales of a town entangled in a web of ancient rituals and dark secrets. She spoke in riddles, her words leaving room for interpretation. "Be wary of the shadows that linger, for they may not reveal what you seek."
Alex, captivated by the enigma, asked, "Why does everyone seem oblivious to this darkness?"
Ms. Blackwood's gaze hinted at a sorrowful truth. "Most choose to live in blissful ignorance, while others are ensnared by the subtle manipulations. The path you tread is not without its dangers."
She extended a cautionary hand, "Turn away now, for the pursuit of truth comes at a cost. Not all answers are meant to be unearthed."
Intrigued yet resolute, Alex responded, "I need to know. There's something here, something hidden. I can feel it."
Ms. Blackwood sighed, "The shadows you chase may consume you. Beware, for some mysteries are best left unsolved. Turn now or you will regret it"
Undeterred, Alex's determination grew, fueled by an insatiable curiosity. As they left the bookstore, the moon hung heavy in the sky, casting elongated shadows that seemed to whisper warnings of the impending darkness.
Little did Alex know that the living eclipse had begun to stir, casting its ominous shadow over Ravenshade. The stage was set for a descent into a darkness that transcended the town's eerie nights, and the journalist found themselves entangled in a narrative where reality and manipulation danced in the haunting embrace of the living eclipse.
Alex ventured more around the township of Ravenshade and stubbled upon a note
'turn and leave before it's too late' it read
Alex sighed "I wonder who left this and why is everyone either just normal or hidding something?"
Alex thinks for a second (first is Ms.Blackwood, now a rando... something is up with this place and I'm going to try get down to it)
Alex decides to keep looking around for the next couple of weeks. Only having Ms. Blackwood as company in this investigation.
She always seemed to be kind but kept warning Alex to stop his persute for what he seems determined to find.
But no matter how much she tried, nothing changes his mind.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The night was 25/11/20XX
Alex was sleeping in his car and he seemed tired from not getting any clues.
He looked out the window or his car and noticed something wierd about the moon. It look as tho the was an eclipse happening...which was wierd in of itself but he decided to ignore it
He fell asleep and a few minutes later
"ALEX!!!ALEX!!!OPEN THE DOOR!!!OPEN THE BLOODY DOOR!!!" A female voice screamed in panic as she bamged on Alex's door to wake him up.
Alex was startled awake to see it was Ms.Blackwood. she looked stressed, worried and scared as she banged louder on the door.
"Alex! Open the bloody door, please!!!" She said as she kept looking behind her every once in a while.
Alex opens for her and lets her in. "What happened?"
"DRIVE!!" was the only response he got before Black hooded people started running towards the car at an inhumane speed*
"Fine!" Alex says in a bit of panic in his golden eyes as he fixes his glasses and jet black straight hair and Starts driving at fast speeds
"What where those?! What is happening?!" He asks as he side eyes Ms blackwood as he drives a few minutes away from the town on Ravenshade.
"I'll come clean then"
