The sound of Dominik's phone woke me up from my nap on Lucien's shoulder. I had been working non-stop for what felt like months, but it was probably only a few weeks. The good news was that everything was done.
The bad news was that until I had another bout of inspiration, I was left with nothing to do. My brain blessedly quiet for a while.
Without saying a word, Dominik rose to his feet and went to the other end of the room. I watched dispassionately, my body unable to function except to let out a jaw-cracking yawn as my eyes slowly closed again.
Between Lucien's scent and the feeling of him, both my mouse and I were fighting over who got to sleep on him.
"I fucking dare you to say that again," growled Dominik, and I could have sworn that he grew almost a foot in height. His shoulders seemed to broaden as the fingers that clutched the cell phone to his ear turned into long talons, ready to rip someone apart.
