Chapter 193 - Chapter 193: Experience "Danger?"

Upon hearing this, John recalled something he had heard about before.

A world different from that of ordinary people.

"Hmm," York nodded.

If it were in the past, he would have been just a father killing time, a priest with some ability to protect himself, without such urgency.

But that was when things hadn't changed...

In this short time, he had completed many missions.

This was unprecedented for him.

At some point, he realized that these supernatural events seemed to be happening more frequently, as if they had been scheduled.

It felt like those novels about spiritual energy revival he had read in his previous life.

On this point alone, York always felt that the world might become more dangerous in the future.

With the current trend of changes, it might become common to encounter a supernatural event just by walking around.

Spiritual energy revival...

York's pupils dilated slightly, and he continued to speak, preparing to explain to the rest of the combat force in Pluto Church, aside from himself.

"John!"

Before he could say the next sentence, the vibration of his phone interrupted him.

York had to stop and, under John Wick's puzzled gaze, took out his phone.

To his surprise, the call was from an unexpected person. "This little nun is in trouble?"

York instinctively thought in this direction and answered the call.

"Irene?"

At the same time, Irene, under the gaze of the weeping Reston, spoke directly:

"Father, I've encountered a very strange event."

She knew the father's character; he disliked beating around the bush.

Sure enough, the father's voice instantly rose in pitch.

"Hmm?"

"I don't know how to describe it." Irene picked up a sketch, looking at the drawing resembling Spider-Man, and said:

"The victim gave me a drawing of something. It doesn't seem like a demon, but something else. It gives me an indescribable feeling."

Hearing this, York already had some enlightenment. It wasn't a demonic event, likely similar to the situation in the Reed Apartment Building.

When did monsters start appearing so frequently?

York habitually squinted his eyes and spoke only a few words.

"Send the address, wait for me there."

Irene let out a sigh of relief, nodded to the teary-eyed Reston, and then earnestly replied.

"Yes, Father York."

The call ended there.

"My father will come." Irene put away her phone, looked at Reston, whose expression was collapsing, and spoke very seriously.

"As long as he comes, everything will be fine, Mr. Reston."

"Thank you! Sister, thank you. Now I understand how foolish I was before." Reston wiped the ceaseless tears on his face with his hands.

"I regret it so much! So much!"

Watching such a grown man cry to the point of breathlessness, finally collapsing on the ground to continue crying, Irene sighed.

At first, she couldn't quite imagine the feeling of losing a loved one, but now she understood a bit.

She suddenly remembered what the father had told her.

He said men and women are a bit different; as the heads of most households, men often choose to keep their pain and suffering in their hearts, bearing it silently.

So, it's only when they're in extreme pain and can't hold it back any longer that they might cry breathlessly.

"Crying is a form of release, Irene. If you encounter this one day, just be there and do nothing. No need for comfort or guidance," the father had said with a smile. "Just quietly wait beside them until they've cried enough and can adjust themselves. To some extent, these believers just need your listening.

That's why listening has become a compulsory course in the monastery now. It's really important. Learning to listen is a skill that clergy must possess..."

Recalling the father's words, Irene thought of her first meeting with Reston, a complex expression on her face. She deliberately lowered her presence, swiped her phone a few times, and sent the address.

Pluto Church.

"Father York, this is?"

John Wick, still in his usual calm demeanor, asked.

"John, would you like to experience another world?"

Father York finished reading the message, put away his phone, and looked at this man he considered a god of killing, a glint of keen interest in his eyes.

Since they coincidentally encountered a supernatural event related to a physical monster, he was curious if this real-world god of killing could handle it.

"Consider it an induction test," Father York said with a smile.

John Wick calmly nodded: "Okay!"

"You don't have to experience it if you're not up to it."

"I'm fine, Father."

Hearing the answer, Father York wasn't surprised and turned to walk towards another room.

"Come with me."

John Wick silently followed the father into another room, which looked like a rest room.

There was a bed, a table, a wardrobe, and a bathroom – simple but very clean, as if it were cleaned every day.

"John, this will be your room from now on," Father York said with a smile. "Of course, you can live outside if you want. This is just your exclusive room in the church, sort of like your resting room. You can take naps here."

"Okay, Father." John Wick took two sets of church uniforms, observed his future room, and silently noted its layout.

"As for why this is your room." Father York spoke mysteriously, walked to the wardrobe, and pressed a secret switch beside it under John Wick's watchful eyes.

"Because here are your weapons."

As these words reached his ears, John Wick saw the wardrobe reveal its secret.

Full of weapons – handguns, assault rifles, grenades, automatic rifles.

"Familiar, right? These weapons were also ordered from Ward," Father York calmly took a backpack from inside, throwing it to the silent John Wick.

"Choose the weapons you're comfortable with, then we'll set off."

John Wick pursed his lips, stepped forward, and began selecting from the familiar weapons.

"Father, is this my future job?"

"No, consider it an experience, getting familiar with our world," Father York said indifferently, not hiding anything from John Wick, nor was there any need to.

Just as he provided a shelter free from disturbance, John Wick naturally had to work, a mutual benefit.

"I need someone like you to protect the clergy and believers of the church during charitable activities or other outings, in case of emergencies. Other than that, you are free."
