Chapter 212 - Chapter 212 - Finding

Ning Weize.

That was the name Sereska heard in the dark, deep red hell, the name of the summoner who awoke him from his slumber. However, sensing further, Sereska felt this was another unfamiliar soul, yet he could also detect the summoner's soul power within it.

This strange sensation made Sereska furrow its brows. It found the human's soul before it to be somewhat unique.

"You…"

Just then, Sereska noticed the human from the car had already stepped out.

"Hello, Sereska," York said, squinting his eyes and promptly preparing a holy hand grenade from his belt.

"I am Ning Weize, your summoner."

Sereska frowned, clutching its bleeding chest. Its first instinct wasn't anger or to tear apart this deceiver, but rather a vague unease.

"I want to ask you a question. Do you know of a demon with bat wings and a humanoid form, with deep purple skin, blood-red eyes, and sharp fangs…"

Sereska didn't immediately respond, just staring at the human before it and speaking in a beast-like tone.

"Human, it should be I who asks you what just happened?"

Sereska hadn't forgotten the recent events, its tone carrying a hint of danger. Whatever this human's business was, he had to pay for what had just occurred.

However, what Sereska didn't anticipate was the human's reply — an object that instantly reached it.

"You're seeking death, insect!"

Feeling offended, Sereska laughed in fury and swung its hand toward the object before it.

"Fool, this is a holy hand grenade," York muttered.

"Explode!"

In an instant, as Sereska's hand touched the holy hand grenade, accompanied by York's command, a loud explosion rang out.

Boom! Flames intermingled with holy light exploded before Sereska.

The explosion's smoke billowed skyward, swiftly obscuring everything in sight. The shockwave boomed, rattling the entire space and causing the earth to tremble. The air around seemed to shake, as the force of holy light spread with the impact.

York casually swatted away the oncoming shockwave, his gaze analytical as he watched the huge spider form within the smoke and dust. Demons truly had bizarre and varied true forms.

Hearing the angry roars from within, York single-handedly pulled the pin from another grenade.

"Roar!"

"It's you! It was you! Human, I will..."

Before Sereska could finish, York, in a pitcher's stance, hurled another holy hand grenade at the massive spider form.

Now with a physique exceeding a hundred, the change was significant.

A loud explosive sound erupted as the grenade, boosted by this force, shot like a bullet straight into the spider within the smoke.

The angry roars inside stopped abruptly, silenced by the explosion.

The encompassing smoke was instantly dispersed by the blast.

Boom! Like before, the explosion had a similar effect. The difference was in the massive spider form now missing a large portion of its limbs, its injuries exacerbated by the holy light's critical damage and the explosive firepower.

Sereska's body was invaded by the corrosive holy light, causing it to emit a piercing scream.

However, at that moment, York casually dispersed the rebounding shockwave and, unhurriedly, prepared another holy hand grenade and tossed it towards Sereska.

"Wait..."

Another explosion quickly dominated the scene...

After several explosions, York stood before the mangled remains of Sereska, now unrecognizable as a spider, and calmly repeated his question.

"Do you know of a demon with bat wings and a humanoid form, deep purple skin, blood-red eyes, and sharp fangs?"

Sereska, with its remaining two eyes, looked down at the human, a hint of mockery in its weak gaze. "Human, do you really think I would answer you?"

"Oh."

York met Sereska's blood-red eyes with a calm smile.

"I was just asking casually."

Saying this, York drew his Ryan revolver, aimed at the dying Sereska's head, and said,

"Goodbye."

Bang! The sound of a .50 caliber holy bullet shattered those vengeful eyes.

Bang! A second holy bullet burst its head open like a watermelon.

In an instant, Sereska, reduced to a mess, exploded into a cloud of black mist that spread in all directions.

"Protego (Shield)"

York's robe fluttered without wind, a circular shield appearing around him to block the blast of dark energy, his consciousness immersed in the task at hand.

[Task Requirement: Slay Sereska (Completed)] [Task Reward: +15 Attribute Points (Issued)]

Hearing the notification, York looked at the various craters on the ground and turned to walk back to his car.

"Only knowing the rough form makes it difficult to find this demon, but no matter, let's continue."

As before, York drove to a new location and summoned another demon, this one a half-human, half-snake entity with green skin and a serpent-like head with shimmering yellow eyes. Its true name was Videros.

However, this demon seemed weaker than Sereska.

It didn't trigger a random task and was instantly disintegrated under a 500-point blessed ray of holy light, leaving York somewhat speechless.

"So weak?"

Despite this, York didn't change his approach. His benchmark was a 500-point blessing, targeting demons significantly weakened to less than one-tenth of their power, not those who could exchange blows with him.

After summoning nine demons, the last named Sakxir, and gaining a total of 20 attribute points, York finally obtained information about the demon from Ernst's fifth report.

"His name is Kaldos! That's his name in the outside world!"

York's eyebrows raised slightly. He retracted his Ryan revolver, stepping off the half-body of Sakxir.

"Kaldos?"

"Yes!" Sakxir, looking up weakly at the human, confirmed.

"He's the only one that fits the description you gave."

With that, the demon named Sakxir stared intently at the human before it.

"I've answered your question, human. Now, you must keep your promise."

Satisfied, York put away his revolver, storing it in its holster, and looked at Sakxir's half-body form, realizing something.

According to the system's dislike for evil, this demon, which could only withstand 500 points of holy light and didn't trigger a random task, was probably a relatively honest demon.
