Chapter 42
Eugene Pov:
How did they know about the failures in my past. I made sure to cover it up and that there were no sources, witness's, nothing. So how on earth did they know that! Not even the Berkian Intelligence organization new about it. They only learned about part of it after the fact.
More over I did a background check on everyone coming into school and nothing related to back then. Then you have the fact that my targets are on the committee and the council! How could things go so wrong in such a short amount of time!
Narrator Pov:
While Eugene was agonizing over his failure to get into the council and committee, they were having a meeting. So far they had covered responsibilities and requirements for both the council and the committee.
"There is still one thing that is bugging me Charlie," Jake responded.
"Oh, and what is that?," Charlie asks.
"When did you get into a relationship with Haydon. We know a little bit about him, and what he has been doing for the last few years. So at what time did he decide to fall in love?," Jake asks.
"W-w-well, you see... Um... that is," Charlie is having a hard time putting it into words.
"Let me explain. I was going back to my home, my business was going good. Charlie here was sent by them to keep an eye on me since it was suspicious, especially since they could not get a picture of my face. She attacked me in the woods near my home and I completely overpowered her. Apparently she has something where she wanted her husband to be stronger than her. I was a prime target for that of course. We are holding off, but after we graduate next year we are getting married and having a family," Hunter informs the group.
"Does that mean she also knows that?," Hiccup asks. Before it wasn't relevant to him, now it was.
"No, did you forget the rules. While in that you are not supposed to give out that, you think I would endanger us like this?," Hunter responds.
"Haydon, you mind explaining?," Charlie asks. Haydon turns around to meet an angered Charlie.
"W-w-well... um... you see... we um," Hunter has the some problem with saying the truth as Charlie.
"Should we explain Fury?," Hannah asks Hiccup.
"Maybe you should do this in private. Plus, what would your father think, Fury, if he knew you were alive," Old Olaf tells Hiccup.
"When did you find out. We gave no clue to who our father was, it was not even in the background check," Hiccup replies.
"I would know the smart kids I saw at the entrance ceremony 4 years ago. Sure you don't have the pets with you since we don't allow them in the dorms. But there are always similarities, for one you liked Dragons, hence fury, and Vast came fr—," Old Olaf is cut off.
"No, you got that wrong actually. Jake here set up something that made the identities for us. It took random facts to my knowledge," Hiccup replied.
"No, it actually used your past to make it," Jake replied.
"Oh," Hiccup answered.
"Ahhh! Why do you guys act like you have known each other for years, there is nothing connecting you at all! An what do you mean make the identities?!," Charlie complains.
"Lets go to a more private setting first. The last thing we want is for everyone to know about it. If they don't already from your yelling," Mia complained back.
"Fine," Charlie said.
"How about we head to your store Dragon Electronics. I am pretty sure it has a private setting, and if anyone asked, we were going out to eat and talk," Tuffnut says, smart for once.
"Yeah, the only person that should be there is Fish. But he is currently on campus as he is also going to school. So we should have it all to ourselves for the time that we are there," Haydon replies.
Little did they know that Fishlegs was listening in on their conversation. So everything they had just said, he heard. He had his assumptions, but now he could prove it, if he followed.
"I'm sorry, but are we missing something?," The other people on the council asked. They had been completely left out of this last part.
"It doesn't pertain to you, so I would just ignore it, forget it even," Charlie responded.
With that they all went their separate ways. The people of the council, the twins, Emma, and their other friends on the council, which was no-one else to my knowledge other than Charlie, went down to the parking lot with the DC. The rest went about their day.
"So how are we getting there exactly? Haydon's Jeep only has room for at most 7, and my car won't fair much better," Charlie tells them.
"We'll be taking mine. Fury here helped me with the design and creation of it," Jake replies. She leads them over to a car taking up two parking slots. It is over 20 feet long with 3 rows of seats, a long bed, 3 axles, and a high quality engine.
"What on earth is this?," Charlie asks.
"It is the truck Jake designed over the past few years. It is pretty massive if I do say so myself. It should have enough seating for everyone," Jake informs them.
With that they all pile inside it. Jake of course is driving, Emma and Hannah take up seats beside Jake on the front row. In the second row you have Hiccup, Astrid, and Hunter. In the third row you have Snotlout, Mia, and Charlie. The twins are residing in the bed of the truck as Jake doesn't particularly trust them to not make a mess of her vehicle.
They leave, driving down the road.
