Over a century ago there was a curse placed on all of the Duchy families In the Empires. The curse was that no twin children born In these families would both make It past age 17. Meaning that If one of the twins don't die before then one will die on their 17th birthday. At first they didn't believe It until one of the twins one all mysteriously dying on that die. Whether from poison, mysterious murdered, died In their sleep, or suicide, one twin died. The crazy part Is that before this curse was placed twin babies weren't common, but after It just seems like twin babies In Duchy families are more common than single.
Nobody knows the reason for this curse, but there Is one main spectacle that Is the most popular. A century ago there used to be another Duchy family that went by the name of Uvan Duchy. It wasn't a regular Duchy.. why? Because they were witches. All of the other Duchies In the Empire didn't like how Uvan Duchy was the most powerful by default. So they decided to take matters into their own hands. The Duchess was a widow as the Duke had passed due to a mysterious illness leaving behind his twin daughters who were 16.
The other Duchies wanted to end the Uvan bloodline so they kidnapped the Uvan girls, tortured them for hours, then murdered them on their 17th birthday. It was said that the witches didn't get their full power until their 17th birthday which Is why the other Duchies waited till their birthday to murder them. Upon hearing about her daughter's death she used all of her remaining life force to place a curse on all Duchy families.
It sounds so accurate and then you think about how the both of the Duchess daughters died so why just kill one twin and not both. The curse Is true, but the reason why stays unknown.
I, Aria Solace, am the daughter of Duke Solace and I have a twin sister, Annette Solace. Our mother who belonged to the Solace bloodline passed when we were three years old. Meaning no more children would be born after us. Before our birth, Mother and Father made an oath with the Royal family that their child would marry the Imperial child. I don't know why, but It would have to do with the fact the Solace Duchy is the second most powerful family In the Empire. Mother and Father weren't expecting to have twins so imagine how they and the Royal family felt when two girls were born.
The oath still stuck even though there would be many complications. The royal family stated that their son would marry one of the Solace twins and that once the engagement was finalized then the other twin would perish. Mother and Father didn't have a choice, but to agree, and at least this way It gave me and Annette a chance at survival. But she got to him before I could.
Yvonne Heart, the crown prince of the Empire. He fell for her the second he laid eyes on her. They just clicked. They met at our 16th birthday banquet. They were inseparable after that and I was itching closer to death every one of those seconds. I tried to get to know him, but he wouldn't even bat an eye at me because he already had, Annette. Annette promised everyday that she would use the royal library to look for a way to break the curse, but she never did. So, I lost patience. I hired an assassin and had him put a huge amount of poison In every single last one of her dishes.
It worked. She died the same day, and I was so happy when I found out, but seconds later I fell extremely dizzy. I couldn't breathe, my bones ached so much, I couldn't see, my hearing disappeared, and then my heart stopped. I passed away and woke up seconds after the pain stopped back In my 15 year old body. Just a week before our 16th birthday banquet. A week before Annette met Yvonne. I thought I would be able to live the rest of my life In peace, but I was wrong. I have to redo It all over again.

I want my life. I deserve my life.. way more than Annette does. She had everything handed down to her and I got the raw end of the stick. I deserve this.. NOT ANNETTE!!
