Xan knew better than to go searching for whatever it was that was able to kill that beast in one attack. He was lucky enough that the person seemed to not have any interest in him. So he turned back his attention to his kill.
"I probably should leave whatever is in here alone." Xan reached down, grabbing the leg and antler of the deer. Then, with a slight groan of effort, he raised the beast, putting it around his shoulder.
Xan took final glances around the forest before dashing back to his spot, zipping through trees, vines, rocks, and obstacles while carrying the heavy deer.
As Xan left, a girl with silver hair, the color of the moonlight, appeared before the fallen beast, a bow in her hands, as she walked over to the spot where Xan had slaughtered the deer. She reached down, grabbing the blood-soaked sand.
"A murderer?" Her voice was a gentle whisper in the night.
