The castle of Kahjin Province Leader was not made of stone or only simply fortified like a fortress. It wasn't a sprawling cottage exuding rustic charm but rather a palace that rose from the plain in breathtaking marvel, glowing white and entirely built of marble. Its surface had been polished to reflect the last rays of the setting sun, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Gigantic columns adorned with floral designs supported balconies with bright flags fluttering from them. Domes on top reflected against the darkening sky, and glistening stained-glass windows hinted at lavish interiors. It showed wealth and luxery, an extravagant palace oddly placed right in the middle of the province.
"Well," Ryan said, his voice a mixture of amusement and disbelief, "that's certainly… different."
"Yeah," Cecil replied, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "The leader has a reputation for… eccentricity."
They reached the castle.
