Chapter 1 - Prologue

Celestia is a world that's loved by the gods. They love Celestia so much that the gods of Celestia decided to shower those they deem as worthy with unimaginable power; some say they choose from lineage, others say it's purely coincidental but the heroes of old say that it all comes from a person's desire to grow strong. Yet wouldn't that mean there would indeed be an imbalance? The best examples were the humans, they're not like the Elves or Fairies who were blessed with a vast amount of mana, nor like the Dwarves and the Beasties who might not have as much mana as the other two but their strength is hailed as magnificent. Then there's the Devas, a race who are equal in both mana capacity and strength.

The humans were weak–to the point where they were nearing extinction, but among all races, they had the strongest desire to grow. Therefore the gods decided to help, but they couldn't do so as long as there was no faith directed to them, so they waited until they found the cry of two siblings. Twins! Thus they blessed the two with knowledge that's out of this world, unlocked their potential and taught them ways to save their race. The two were soon known as the saviors of mankind and opened a new age for Celestia! The two were known as the very first High Humans. Which have continued to be revered to this day.

"This was the last book, and still there was no mention of anything! These two were supposed to be the mothers of ancient artifacts," she mumbled to herself as she slammed the book shut and placed it down, she sat there completely devoid of any inspiration, as her eyes scanned her small damp room, with only a single lamp as her light. Ana's gaze then locked on a small insignia which was embossed to a piece of paper with her scribbles, of "their '' project. She couldn't help but chuckle at her own miserable life. All because of this family, that everyone in the whole continent of Lyrria continues to praise.

The magnificence and power of Marquise Vander's Domain are known throughout the Helios Empire, so if anyone would ask about their shot to fame, richness and power, the citizens would make a point of the business they established 8 years ago a business specialized in Magic Artifacts. In truth, Magic Artifacts weren't scarce almost a decade ago, but when the founder and producer vanished out of thin air, the artifact's value rose to an unimaginable amount, making the only holders of such prized artifacts the Royals and the nobles.

During the debutante banquet hosted by the Grand Duchess, Marquise Alexis device a plan by using his very own daughter, Lady Lilybeth Vander wherein she would showcased a new product of their company; it was a beautiful amethyst necklace, this kept his daughter cool despite the warm summer air. This action made a mark in the history of the Lyrria Continent for they reintroduced a sought-after item, a Magic Artifact.

The Marquisate did not need to explain this, for their daughter had already proven her vast knowledge of the magical history, although lacking magical talent, Lady Lilybeth's mana capacity was large enough, therefore this newfound talent was never questioned. As a result the Helios Imperial Family coveted, Lady Lilybeth for her talent and within that same year, she was wed to the 2nd prince.

Praises were sung about Marquise Vander, for having equally talented and beautiful children; a daughter with her golden locks and small round face paired with her beautiful amber eyes, her value as Lady further increased by creating magical artifacts–a rare craft that was nearly forgotten. For that specific talent, Lady Lilybeth was known as one of the women who rewrote history. On the other hand, his son, Sir Klein, a handsome man had a talent in both sword and magic, something only seen in 1 out of 1000 in his generation, he was a skilled magic swordsman which was what the Vander Family was known for after all.

But every success story has another side, soon some people would notice flaws every time the Vander siblings had a slip, and Marquise Vander would always retaliate by releasing a new and groundbreaking artifact. Because he couldn't deny the truth. That they were nothing but liars--frauds, living the glory of someone else while they took away her freedom. But those were whispers of the dead, for who could believe such a claim from some whose power now rivals the Grand Duke?

"You better do the orders. This time on time!" a voice said, from the darkness emerged a woman, her amber eyes glowed under the dimly lit cell as she looked down on the person receiving her disgust. Her hate was all directed to the young woman who scrambled to the corner while hugging herself in protection the moment she heard that person's voice, you couldn't see her features well, yet with how she carried herself you would think she lived her whole life in verbal and physical abuse.

The Lady stepped forward allowing the moonlight to hit her porcelain skin, whilst revealing an angelic face that seems to be carved by the goddess of beauty herself. She sneered at the girl hunched in a corner as her lips curved up while she kicked the poor girl. Despite being a true talent, she was nothing but a servant--a slave that can never retaliate and bite down the pain inflicted on her.

She was a slave, but this was not how it started. She was called Anna, a girl taken in by the Vander house's Young Master when she was found just outside the border between the estate's land and the Magical Forest during his hunt. At the time, when Young Master Klein found her she wore only a white dress but the way she looked made her look like she was a Child of noble blood, or just another bastard.

She had beautiful light blonde hair that formed golden waves, and her most striking feature was her eyes, it was in a beautiful shade of dark blue with a hint of gray under the sun, her eyes were like purple but this information was only between Klein and her after all he was quite fond of her--almost like an obsession that he always kept her close.

Klein continued to develop feelings for Anna but still knew what could and he couldn't do if it wasn't for his sister Lilybethy.

When Anna came to their life, she was away for a month to join the awakening ceremony, only to come back to a girl who was compared to her the moment she returned. So she devised a plan that could leave Anna permanently injured.

But this plan failed, which led to her brother suffering life-threatening injuries instead and turning Anna into a prisoner of the Vander Family up to this day.

"That's enough, we both know what will happen if she doesn't do the job." A grim look was plastered on Klien's lips. Had he not stopped his sister, she would have gone on injuring her in places where she needed to work.

"Hah! You still love her despite her rejection!" Lilybeth scoffed, "I mean just look at her! Ah right, you can't. Not after your wife burned nearly half her face."

Klein stepped closer and cupped Anna's face then he paused, "Will you continue to not accept me? It's been years Anna." then leaned in, "You don't belong anywhere. You were abandoned, alone and near-death before I found her. You should be thankful--"

Anna lifted her head, showing her ugly scarred face that extended to the right side of her hair, and white eyes that turned blind from the injury, reminding him what he did. Klein felt his stomach twist at the sight so he forcefully turned her face to the left, where there was no trace of scars, only a beautiful face. "What do you need me for Klein? I already wrote down a manual for the artifact as you asked. Letting me go is the least you could offer." Anna said with her strained voice.

"How many times have I told you, You're mine Anna, the only way you can come out of here is if you're dead," Klein said as he let's go and stepped away from her.

The two left soon after.

The truth behind the magical artifacts was her.

She is the true genius, she was the one to create the magic artifact but she never truly intended to be exploited. She thought it was her way to be recognized and granted freedom so she showed her skills in tinkering metal scraps turning it into the most sought-after item because that was all she knew.

A moonlight seemed to have found its way to the small opening illuminating a tiny part of her cell, she slowly reached out both her hands as if catching all the essence of the moon. Pressing her eyes closed and repeated the memories, her single memory of the past, it was vague but it was the only memory she has; how she held two identical boys in her arms, a girl rushing to her, calling out muted words, and a boy holding her hand close. She might not know why that memory but she remembers the feeling, how she holds them close to her heart and how devastating she felt on that day. As if her world just came to an end.

She rolled her hands in a fist, "Tomorrow, just a little bit. And I'll find you tomorrow." lifting her head she whispered, her dark blue-hued eyes having a hint of purple, the time is now. Tomorrow night her plan will be set in motion.

The siblings wouldn't bother to find her for the next few days, because she heard about a visit of the new Emperor of Helios. She didn't know the full details, but basically, the first prince who was studying abroad was stuck in a crossfire and died horrendously as he and his retainers fled for their life. The truth came to light just a few years ago when he magically appeared with an army of talented people and fought with purple-eyed monsters.

The First Prince slaughtered the Queen and those in the 2nd Prince faction, and Lady Lilybeth and her family survived all because of the Second Prince whose allegiance had always been to his half-brother.

So that's about how it went down.
