Chereads / PYROSITES: My Heroines were truly Villainous / Chapter 25 - Fourth floor Labyrinth

Chapter 25 - Fourth floor Labyrinth

Five minutes ago, immediately after defeating Smiting, Lily then made her way on a mission to locate the room where Khierom was currently hiding.

However, there's a major issue with it, and that is it's located on the fourth floor of this mansion.

You may ask what the problem is. It's just the fourth floor of a certain mansion; well, you aren't wrong, but that's not the issue.

The problem arises from how the fourth floor was built Because it was meticulously constructed and kept mostly top secret.

And only a handful of people know about it; that's because as soon as the building of the fourth floor was finished.

The Soulshearth brutally executed all the workers who worked on the construction of the fourth floor.

So maybe that is one of the reasons why there are so many who hate the Soulshearth family.

Anyway, apart from that, the fourth floor was also built to have countless doors and a maze-like structure.

Not only that, It also houses not just one but thousands of booby traps.

Making it difficult for assassins to pinpoint the exact location of their target.

So basically, the fourth floor is a man-made labyrinth, and only a select few know about it.

Most likely, core members of the family who know its ins and outs and how the traps work.

[Lily POV]

-Bang!!!

With a loud bang, the thick metal door blew up into pieces as Lily walked inside.

"Hello?" Lily greeted first before speaking, "Is everybody here?" she asked.

"..." However, she went silent as she observed the entire room.

As she looked inside, all she saw was a messy bed, a desk, and a small shelf with a couple of books on it.

Also, the room seems to have been neglected for a while, with dust and spider webs covering everything.

Seeing this, Lily sighed, "Ha..." and remarked, "fuck, it's the wrong room again," in an annoying tone as she looked away and turned her back, proceeding to leave the room.

-stumpp...

-stump.

-stump...!

Three minutes later...

"Waaaa... this is the fourth room already!" Lily yelled in frustration after opening the wrong room for the fourth time.

"Ugh... I promise, if this door in front of me isn't the room I'm looking for, I'm really gonna destroy this labyrinth!" Lily exclaimed, wearing an annoyed expression, as she kicked the door open.

-cushhh!!

With just a single kick from Lily, the door opened effortlessly. Finally, seeing that the door was open, Lily entered and took a look inside.

"..." and remains silent as she observes the entire room.

The first thing she noticed was that it was an empty room with only a single window covered in dust.

"..."

"Arghh! I can't take it anymore!" Lily yelled as she finally snapped after seeing another empty room.

"I'm so tired of doing this. Why did they assign me to do this?" Lily added.

Saying this, she quickly reached into her pocket, pulling out a suspicious object.

"Screw them," Lily added as she sat in the corner, with her back leaning against the wall and her legs stretched out.

"Fu..." Lily sighed as she looked at her hands. And began to unwrap the suspicious object that she had picked from her pocket earlier on.

-Ripsss!

Unpacking it, Lily revealed a limited edition charcoal-flavored Splendamin that could only be found during a seasonal month.

"Hehehe, this is my heaven," Lily exclaimed, with her mouth watering as her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Luckily, I was able to find this one," Lily added as he opened her mouth and took a large bite into it.

-Chomp.!

"...Hmm! This is heavenly!" Lily exclaimed in a pleased tone, savoring the taste of the Splendamin food in her mouth.

-Chomp.!

She took another bite of it one last time before putting it back in her pocket, reserving it for next time.

"I can finally do my job now," Lily said, full of energy as she stood up, sweeping the mess.

-bzzz!!

Suddenly, her right wrist began to vibrate, and without further ado, she quickly pulled up her sleeve, revealing yet another limited edition smartwatch (yes, another one) on her left hand.

"A voice call?" Lily mumbled before she tapped open her smartwrist.

Showing a monitor size of 122k HD, with a 23 by 25 screen.

[TETRA: YOW, LILY, HOW'S IT'S GOING? HAVE YOU HAD ANY LUCK FINDING THAT MIDGET?]

"I can't still find him," Lily replied with a pounding expression on her face.

[TETRA: WHAT?!]

"Don't 'what' me. Do you even realize how difficult it was for me to find him?" Lily said, her attitude suddenly shifting 180 degrees.

[TETRA: IT'S JUST A KID, HOW COULD YOU NOT ABLE TO FIND HIM!]

"Yeah, it's just a kid! That's right, a kid from the Soulshearth family!!" Lily exclaimed, beginning to explain the reason.

"Do you even know how the Soulshearth family built this mansion?! This mansion was built like a fucking labyrinth, so finding him is like finding a needle in a fucking cornfield!!" She added.

"..." And as soon as she heard what Lily said, TETRA went into silence for a moment before speaking.

[TETRA: BUT... AREN'T YOU A FORMER SOULSHEARTH MEMBER?]

Hearing this, Lily frowned and replied with an annoyed tone, "Yes, I was in the past! However, there's no way I can find that kid in this mansion filled with empty rooms and booby traps!" she emphasized.

"And do you even know how frustrated I am right now that I have to eat my time-limited Splendamin?" she added.

[TETRA: ... ]

[TETRA: SORRY I DIDN'T KNOW]

"Yes, that's right. Say sorry for it. Do you even know how hard it was for me to obtain that Splendamin?!" Lily exclaimed, pausing for a moment as she noticed something before continuing.

"..."

"Wait, don't tell me we invaded this mansion without knowing about the infamous labyrinth of Soulshearth?!" she added.

[TETRA: N-NO WE KNOW IT HEHEHHE]

"Don't 'hehehe' at me, Tetra," Lily retorted in a bossy tone.

[TETRA: OKAY, OKAY. PLEASE DON'T BE MAD. I PROMISE AFTER THIS MISSION ENDS, I AM GONNA REWARD YOU WITH ANY LIMITED AND COLLECTIBLE ITEM OF YOUR CHOICE.]

And as soon as she heard that, Lily then smirked with a victorious expression on her face.

[TETRA: ANYWAY, WHERE ARE THE TWINS? IT SEEMS LIKE I CAN'T HEAR THEM.]

"..." Lily's immediately went into silence upon hearing that.

[TETRA: LILY? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TWIN? DO YOU KNOW THAT THOSE TWINS WERE EXCLUSIVELY SENT TO YOU BY OUR CLIENT, RIGHT?]

"I know, but, um, how do I say this," Lily hesitated for a moment.

[TETRA: SAY IT LILY! WHAT HAPPENED?!]

"Well, basically, they fell into the trap that Smith set when they were fighting and died," Lily said, speaking as if she were a robot.

[TETRA: WHAT?!! TELL MY WHY? AND HOW IT'S HAPPENED?!]

"Let's see, do you see those in front of me? It's a corner, right?" Lily hinted, pointing her finger into thin air.

[TETRA: YESS AND THEN?]

"If you just walk towards it, there's this giant ball, and that giant ball is strong enough to turn you into a human-made donut," Lily explained with a blunt but direct answer.

[TETRA: HUH? I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY DONUT?]

"Bruh, never mind. Anyway, can you help me find my target?" Lily asked, forcefully shifting the topic.

Unfortunately, that sudden shift didn't work.

[TETRA: LILY, YOU DON'T NEED TO FORCEFULLY CHANGE THE TOPIC IF YOU FEEL GUILTY...]

"What?! Guilty, you say? For your information, I don't feel any guilt about what happened to those twins," Lily denied, trying to defend herself; however, she indeed felt guilty.

"Plus, It's their fault why they died so horribly. If they had just listened to my instructions, they wouldn't have ended up like that," she added.

[TETRA: OKIE, OKIE, BY THE WAY, YOU ASKED WHERE THE MIDGET IS, RIGHT?]

"Yes?" Lily replied without hesitation but with a questioning tone.

[TETRA: OUR CLIENT JUST CALLED ME AND SAID TO REDIRECT THE LINE TO YOU.]

"Why? Is it because the twins died?" Lily asked, scratching the back of her head.

[TETRA: NO NOT ABOUT THAT.]

"Then what?!" Lily yelled in question.

[TETRA: IT'S ABOUT THE MIDGET AND HOW YOU FAILED TO FIND HIM.]

"Wait, doesn't our client know how difficult it is to find a needle in a haystack?" Lily said, explaining how it was hard for her to find it.

[TETRA: DON'T ASK ME IT'S OUR CLIENT DECISION.... ]

"..." Upon hearing Tetra's cold tone, Lily remained silent for a moment before speaking, "Fine, just redirect the call to me.

[TETRA: WAIT, GIVE ME A MOMENT.]

-Beep!

With a short beep, Lily was finally able to redirect the call to the client.

[CLIENT: HOW INCOMPETENT YOU ARE! I HIRED YOUR GROUP BECAUSE THEY CLAIMED THA-]

However, Lily cut her words off. "Oh, please, can you shut up for a bit?" she said as she covered her ears.

[CLIENT: WHAT DO YOU SAY, BITCH?!!]

Letting out a long sigh, "Ha...." Lily spoke in a cold yet menacingly sweet tone. "You geezer, I know that you hate the Soulshearth family, and so do I. But if you don't calm down for a moment, I'm going to come to your territory and slaughter your whole family."

Upon what Lily said, the enraged client got himself silent for a moment, regaining her composure.

[CLIENT: FINE, I WILL CANCEL THE MISSION OF FINDING THAT MIDGET. AFTER ALL, THERE'S NO WAY THAT A MIDGET WHO JUST TURNED TWELVE CAN DO A SINGLE THING NOW THAT THE SOULSHEARTH FAMILY IS BEING DESTROYED.]
