Chapter 130 - Family?…

*POV* Kalea Rosell

I punched Clayton in the arm lightly as Kylo disappeared through the door. "What was that for!" I questioned, a little mad, he shrugged.

"I was just assessing him, but dang he really was scary." Raven ran from the room crying and Sunny gave Clayton the stink eye before

following his sister.

"You could have gotten you both hurt. Not to mention Raven is going to cry all night because of your dumb emotions." He looked at me with a half-smile. "Calm down Kalea, it's not that bad."

For a boy who had just gone through hell I felt the need to be mad. "Aunt Coral said your father also came back. How does that feel?" He asked, I sighed. "Not much different." I admitted. He laughed and nodded.

"I can't believe it took him 17 years to find Samuel. Uncle Randall has been feeling his emotions for that long. I can't imagine the hurt." He sobered. I sighed again, my mind feeling out the situation.

"I hope everything works out for them." Clayton agreed before offering his arm. "Come, I want to eavesdrop on what your parents are talking about."

I eyed him with a half-smile but took his arm and hurried down the hall with him, we stopped at a door and listened closely, this is what we heard. "But Randall, the boy isn't bad or evil. He needs guidance!" My mother was saying.

"You know this because you read his mind?" Uncle Randall asked. "Yes in-fact, I did. But we need to know more about him." She argued.

"They will come for him." Stefon's voice broke in. "The best we can do is keep this quiet."

"I can talk to the children and see what we can do about keeping this on the low." Aunt Coral spoke, "But we can't push the boys, or they will leave, you know as well as I teenagers have strong feelings." Mother chuckled.

"I will try my best to train Kylo, he is a good kid." Stefon spoke. "Have you seen his powers?" Uncle Randall asked.

"No, but I have seen the mark." I exchanged a glance with Clayton. "This mark, what does it look like?" Aunt Coral asked.

"It's on his cheek, he covers it with some leather polish." Stefon told them. "Smart kid, if his mark is as you say then we can't have the

public learning about this." Uncle Randall said, the others agreed.

There were footsteps behind us, quickly we moved away from the door as Sunny rounded the corner and an icy breeze came with him.

"Clayton!" He yelled, Clayton stood straighter, for all his power as a lightning mage Clayton didn't have the rage of an ice elemenlest. "I

think he is mad." Clayton breathed.

"Ya think." I watched the younger boy stomp down the hall. "What can I do for you-?" Clayton called but was stopped short by the ice sickles flying his way. The air filled with energy as Clayton sent a bolt of lightning out, it flew around until all the ice was melting on the floor.

"What's got you mad, Sunny?" Sunny came up to stand in front of Clayton standing his full 5'6".

"You made Samuel leave. Raven says he doesn't want to come back." Clayton glanced at me, and I could tell he was starting to panic.

Clayton cursed, Sunny stared at him with his arms folded. "Should we go find them?" I asked, Clayton pulled out a piece of paper and

wrote on it before he sent it away in the claws of a lightning bird.

"No, I am hoping they will forgive me and return." I sighed, the door opened, and our parents stared at us with suspicion. "What are you guys doing out here?" Mother questioned, I knew she knew, and my head hung low.

Aunt Coral laughed lightly in a good mood. "Don't worry about them Lexy, now where's Samuel and Kylo?"

Sunny glared at Clayton. "Not sure." He replied honestly. Aunt Coral sighed and came over to give me a hug. "Well, we better do our best to welcome them, so they will want to stay."

*POV* Kylo Hillmore

I started to worry about Samuel after he threw 3 fire balls at a garbage can, pulling him into an alleyway. I looked at his face. "What are we doing here?" He shrugged.

"I just need to-." He shrugged again, I sighed and thumped him on the shoulder. "Maybe we should go eat something or do something." He

didn't seem enthusiastic but followed me to an inn.

I ordered us a meal, Samuel was deep in thought so I let him think while my own thought turned to the prospect of being the Queen of

Hilldren's long lost son.

Could I see myself sitting randomly up in the castle? Or being a king one day? I shook my head, I couldn't.

A warrior or a knight, maybe.

*POV* Samuel Sparks Franklin

Mixed emotions swirled inside me, a lot of feelings I had never felt. But in the back of my mind Lula's words kept repeating themselves.

"You better at least promise me you will try to love her, you were her world.

She misses you."

Having a mother was not something I ever wanted, but all I had was pesky lords to watch over me. The closest thing I could think of was

how Stefon kept me alive all those years.

I hadn't realized how much I had missed her, memories so faint I almost couldn't remember them anymore resurfaced in the depths of my

mind.

A warm hug, a kiss, a kind word, tears. All connected to the figure that was mother. Seeing her face again had been hard, harder than training had ever been.

Kylo shifted beside on the bank of the small stream that ran along the edge of the city. I hadn't touched any of the food he had bought for us, but just his company made me feel better, like me he was going through a lot of the same things.

But somehow, he was able to smile still. A humming sound alerted me to the bird's presents. I shot it from the air and grimaced, Kylo laughed but then frowned. "I think that was a message for us."

There was nothing left. He smiled. "We should probably go back." I glanced up at the sky. It was warm out, and not quite evening. I followed Kylo and stood.

"You can do this, we can do this." Kylo whispered before he walked away. If anything, he and Lula felt more like family than anyone else.
