Chapter 112 - Under Fire

*POV* Destiny Blaze

Glancing over the thin shoulder of the blonde tech, I took a breath as a glowing power covered his bare hands like a glove, he held two thick wires close together until they refused, and the energy in the air faltered.

"That's the first one finished." he shouted over the deafening noise around us. I stepped back as he held up his hands to grab another two wires that had been ripped apart.

The wires snapped and popped above us, I ducked my head. Looking over the railing I searched for Monique's white speck in the sea of black. My heart thumped in a crazy rhythm as I watched the fight below.

Whispering a spell, a fireball gathered in the air in front of me. Tossing it, I braced as it hit the ground shaking the building. A fire now raged below as rune monster after rune monster caught fire.

"This is taking too long!" The tech yelled over the noise of fans, turning I saw he had gotten 2 more of the 50 or so wires done. "Keep going!" He grimaced and grabbed for another.

Turning back I almost fell when I saw Monique climbing the sheer building. Looking past her I could see that a pile of blackness was following her. "Don't bring them up here!" I squeaked.

"What's going on?!" Tech guy ran over to grab the railing. He cursed, I watched in disbelief as she continued to climb. "Get back to work!" I instructed the tech with a shout turning him back to his task.

Monique continued coming and so did the horde. "I could blast them." I thought hopefully but quickly realized if I did Monique would fall. Now I could see about 10 people clinging to her back, she was that huge.

When she got about to where I stood I was surprised that she continued climbing past me. But there was no time to wonder when I noticed the horde growing closer, my heart hammered in my chest.

I could see the white marks on them moving, I shouted my spell this time and sent a steam of fire into their faces. Sweat dripped from my eye brows. After a minute I stopped and looked at the damage.

I soft spoken prayer beside me told me that the tech was seeing what I was seeing, my flames had only knocked maybe 10 of them off. But the rest pressed forward.

I stilled only a second before I sent fire ball after fire ball towards them. But to my horror it didn't even scratch them. "They are immune to your fire?" I frowned at the tech's words and sent another fireball. It seemed to bounce off of them.

Sucking in a breath I wiped at my face. "Crap, I can't hold them off!" I thought.

A second I was holding to the railing the next I was falling. All I could remember before, was that a great flash of white light so hot it burned my skin, jolted the building, ripped my grip loose and threw me over the rail.

I closed my eyes as the hot air turned cold, I couldn't think, everything hurt too much. "You can't give up." I thought in defeat, but I had nothing I could do. I wasn't an air mage, I was just Destiny, a simple girl with the power of fire.

A fog covered my mind as I waited for the impact, I wasn't scared of death. "But I am." I thought sadly, I would never get the chance to see my sisters again or to see where my and Dominic's relationship would go.

I awoke with a jolt and fought as I was held down but something, it took me a second to realize someone was talking to me. "Calm down Destiny! You have to hold still." I realized with another burst of panic that I couldn't see.

"I can't see!" I screamed, the people around me continued to try and hold me down, I could tell there was more than one. "Hold still Destiny, you need to calm down!"

I faltered at the sound of a particular woman's voice, my arms were held down against the hard surface then my head and legs. "We are here to help you. We just need you to hold still for my power to work."

I took a shaking breath, confirming that I was still alive, and I relaxed completely. With the lack of movement came the pain, it pricked and stung. "What had actually happened to me!?" I thought, panic thundering in my heart.

"My name is Rose, I have heard quite a lot about you." I listened as Rose continued to talk as the feeling returned to my body. She finally came to my face. "Oh you have pretty eyes." She voiced as in the same second I blinded wildly into a blinding light.

"Just close your eyes, you are still healing." I did as she said and closed them with a sigh. As the pain embed.

The sound of a door opening sounded with a dang as it closed. "How's it going out there!" Rose asked, the newcomer huffed. "It's worse than before. We have only gotten 4 jets over, they are loading the 5-6." There was a sound of the man coming closer, his voice came closer to.

"I hate this!" Rose chuckled dryly. "Unfortunately, we all saw something like this happening." The aids around me stayed quiet. "Who's she?" The man asked, I dared to peek at him but all I saw was the light so I gave up.

"Dominic's friend, she got hit by the cat's lightning." There was a sound of disgust. "Poor girl." I started to wonder why this guy was in here chatting when he could be out helping.

"I have never seen such a creature." Voice a girl aid. The man laughed. "Just wait till you get there, you will probably see plenty of them." I frowned, and Rose placed a hand on my arm.

"Get out of here Rocker, you are bothering my patient." He laughed, and I was glad to hear him leaving.

Rose seemed so calm, and I was glad she was because my heart was thumping and fears were swirling around in my head.
