Chapter 269 - Chapter 269: Harry Potter Must Die

After Snape waved his wand, making the unconscious Harry levitate, he led them both out through the fire gate. They walked through several rooms, and Snape placed them on brooms to fly out through the trapdoor. A bell was ringing by Fluffy's side, keeping the giant dog asleep.

They were brought outside the corridor, where Tom saw Hermione and Ron also tied up.

"I ran into him when I came out," Hermione said with a tear-stained face, clearly terrified.

"Let's go, all of you," Snape said, levitating the still-unconscious Ron, holding Tom and Hermione with his other hand. "I told you, if you wander around in the middle of the night, I'll expel you all! I mean it!"

"Such authority, Professor Snape..."

At that moment, from a shadow in the corridor, a sardonic voice spoke.

"Who?" Snape pushed Tom and Hermione away and turned sharply, but it was too late.

"Stupefy!" A red light hit Snape, knocking him unconscious.

The figure stepped out of the shadows, "Tom, you got the Stone and brought Harry. Well done."

Hermione's eyes widened, "Pro-Professor Quirrell! Your stutter..."

"Oh, so-sorry, Miss Granger, it was a-acting..." Quirrell boasted, "After all, with Snape as the big fool in front, who would notice poor Quirrell?"

"Why... why are you doing this?" Hermione was in shock.

But Tom wasn't particularly surprised; in the Forbidden Forest, he had recognized the familiar voice. With just a few professors at school, it wasn't hard to guess.

Quirrell was about to say something, but then, a hoarse voice came from behind his head, "Don't waste time! Get the Stone! Take the boy!"

"Yes, master." Quirrell's face turned from triumph to fear. He approached Tom, pulling the Stone from his tightly clutched hand. "Master, the Stone! I got it!"

"Take Harry Potter!"

"Yes, okay, master."

As Quirrell tried to pick up Harry, he screamed as if burned upon touching him, blisters forming instantly, "Master, I-I can't touch him!"

"Use magic, you fool!"

Quirrell levitated Harry, but Tom suddenly lunged, holding onto Harry.

"Let go!" Quirrell pointed his wand at Tom.

Unmoved, Tom remained.

"Take him too!" the hoarse voice commanded.

Hermione also rushed to block the boys, but Quirrell stunned her with a spell. "Master, should I..."

But Tom growled fiercely, glaring at him.

"Never mind, hurry up! Don't waste time!"

Quirrell levitated Harry and Tom on brooms, dispelled the Disillusionment Charm on everyone, and controlling them with magic, flew out of the corridor window towards the Forbidden Forest.

Quirrell hadn't learned the flight spell from Voldemort, and Hogwarts prohibited Apparition, so he had to use this method.

Crude, but effective, he soon brought everyone to a clearing in the forest, surrounded by magical traps.

Away from Hogwarts, free to Apparate, Quirrell took out a key, controlled Tom and Harry's fingers to grasp it, and suddenly, they vanished.

In a graveyard, Quirrell and the two boys appeared.

A large cauldron was brewing in the center, with a potion stand nearby, brewing another potion.

Quirrell set Harry and Tom down. "Quick, start the potion," Voldemort's excited voice urged.

Quirrell placed the Stone on the potion stand, then began adding ingredients to the cauldron, starting the Elixir of Life.

Simultaneously, he started adding materials to the large cauldron.

"Take blood from the boy!" Voldemort commanded. "I'll use it for the resurrection potion."

Quirrell took out a knife, approaching Harry.

Tom suddenly stopped him, pointing to his mouth. Snape's spell still silenced him.

"Remove his spell," Voldemort ordered.

Quirrell did, "Finite."

"Cough, cough," Tom made a sound. "Where is this?!"

"Ah, Tom..." Voldemort seemed amused, "This is where you were born. See that old mansion in the distance? That's the Riddle house, where your father, old Tom, lived."

"And your mother lived nearby."

"I don't remember any of this," Tom said, retreating.

Escape. He must escape.

He still had a spare wand from Professor Murphy, and the spell silencing him was broken. Maybe he could attack Quirrell.

But he couldn't reach the key in Quirrell's hand, and didn't know how to return to Hogwarts from here. He didn't want to give up, especially not let Harry die here.

"Ah, right, you haven't regained your memory," Voldemort said. "But you did well, I'll reward you. Give me the diary."

Tom had the diary, as he planned to hand Harry over, but now his intentions had changed.

However, this was an opportunity.

"You really want to resurrect me?" Tom asked.

"Of course, you are me, my best partner," Voldemort said. "We'll use this boy's blood for resurrection, then whatever power he has, we'll have, and we'll be stronger than before."

Tom hesitated, "Then, can you not kill him?"

Voldemort was silent, then said, "He's our enemy. Harry Potter must die!"

"You don't really think of him as a friend, do you?"

Tom looked at Quirrell, then relaxed his shoulders, "Of course not, I just find it troublesome. I'll give you the diary, but let me regain my memory first."

Saying so, Tom slowly drew the diary from his chest.

Simultaneously, he pulled out the serpent-patterned wand hidden behind the diary, suddenly throwing the diary at Quirrell and brandishing the wand, "Expelliarmus!"

However, Quirrell reacted faster than expected, a golden shield blocking Tom's attack.

Then, with another flick, he disarmed Tom and cast Petrificus Totalus, freezing him.

"Hmph!" Voldemort sneered, "Weak! You've been playing too long, believing it yourself. I must admit, young me devised a good plan by splitting only that piece of soul to create you, but unfortunately, you don't seem to want to be controlled."

He picked up the diary. "No matter, I'll correct you. You always wanted those lost memories, right?"

"Now, I'll give them all to you."

He recited some spells, lifting the magic previously cast on the diary.

"Take one last look at this world, Lucas. When you wake up, you'll be Tom Riddle."

Saying this, Quirrell pressed Tom's hand onto the diary and touched it with his wand.

Suddenly, Tom was engulfed in a tidal wave of memories.
