Saint Mungo's Hospital.
Lucius was narrating the tragic events that had befallen his family to two Aurors.
"It was Murphy Darkholm! It was him! He used the Fiendfyre curse and an explosive dark magic to blow up my house! My family and I nearly died, and my unfortunate friends all perished in the flames!"
"He's a ruthless Dark wizard! You must bring him to justice!"
He was passionately accusing, and as he looked up, he saw Sklinje leading four or five Aurors, with Murphy Darkholm following them into the ward.
Huh? The Aurors are acting so quickly? I haven't even finished presenting my case, and the criminal has already been apprehended? "Sklinje, he..."
"Lucius. Save it for the courtroom."
"..."
Lucius was somewhat puzzled. The Aurors' efficiency today seemed unusual.
He stood up, but two Aurors approached him, one on each side, and one of them said, "Hand over your wand."
Lucius was bewildered. Why would they confiscate my wand when I'm the plaintiff? "Sklinje, what's going on? What does this mean? Weren't you going to have me testify in court?"
Sklinje glared at him coldly. "Lucius, you've been accused of being a Death Eater and engaging in dangerous activities. You must come with us."
"What?"
Lucius was a bit bewildered.
Death Eater? When did that happen? The trial was over a long time ago!
"According to the Purification Act, all Death Eater suspects, even if previously acquitted, can have their trials reopened if new evidence emerges. Lucius, come with me; your trial is being reopened!"
...
Wizengamot Courtroom.
Looking at the three layers of spectators that filled the entire courtroom, Murphy suddenly felt that this situation had gotten a bit too big.
Indeed, he was right. In normal wizard trials, the presence of one-third or more of the Wizengamot members was required, and for major cases, it needed two-thirds or more. However, when it came to cases involving the Purification Act, unless there were extremely special circumstances, all members had to be present.
Lucius was currently confined in an iron thorn cage in the center. He looked quite terrified, and the whole time, he appeared anxious.
It seemed that his first trial had left a serious psychological impact on him.
In this case, Murphy's report seemed to have some use after all.
As everyone took their seats and waited in silence for a while, suddenly, a distortion in space not far from Murphy occurred, and a tall figure appeared before him.
The person wore a pointed hat and a blue wizard robe adorned with shiny little stars.
"Sorry for being late, everyone. There were some matters at the school that delayed me a bit. Can we start now?"
Murphy listened to this familiar voice in astonishment, and a thousand thoughts raced through his mind.
Merlin's beard!
How could I forget about him!
Albus Dumbledore!
He was the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot!
In both this life and the previous one, he was synonymous with wisdom and power.
Such a person, you would never want to be his enemy.
But today, Murphy had to deceive most of the people present.
"Rufus, you mentioned new evidence in your letter..." Dumbledore said, turning around and noticing Murphy. He hesitated for a moment, but quickly continued, "Can you show it to us?"
"Or perhaps, let the provider of the evidence, Mr. Murphy Darkholm, show it to us."
With that, Sklinje signaled for Murphy to step forward.
Taking a deep breath, Murphy tried to calm his emotions.
Damn it!
No matter what, I have to go through with this now! In this situation, even if it's Voldemort in front of me, I have no choice but to proceed!
His gaze became firm, and he walked to the podium next to the presiding judge.
"Everyone, my name is Murphy Darkholm."
"You may not have seen me before, but many of you may not be unfamiliar with my parents."
"Yes, they were Death Eaters."
The wizards in their violet robes began to whisper among themselves.
But Murphy didn't mind. "Because of them, I spent a lonely childhood, suffered bullying at school, and always lived in poverty."
"However, I don't blame them. They were fully immersed in evil, and they paid the price for their actions."
"But not all villains have been brought to justice."
"This man! Lucius Malfoy!" Murphy pointed at Lucius in the iron cage. "He is a Death Eater, just like my parents! But he escaped justice! He committed numerous crimes and got away with it! Today, I am here to expose his true nature!"
"Do you have any evidence to claim he is a Death Eater?" one of the judges asked.
"I have two pieces of evidence," Murphy said, pulling out a letter from his pocket. "I found a secret letter in my family's old home."
"It's a letter from a Death Eater, addressed to my father, Sanders Darkholm. This person invited my father to join the Death Eaters, promising him that 'when the Dark Lord reigns supreme, we will become his right-hand men and enjoy unprecedented power and wealth!'"
"Please take a look." Murphy unfolded the letter. "This is the letter, and the signature at the end is L.M. Lucius Malfoy!"
"Liars! Deceivers!" Lucius shouted. "I have never written such a letter! Your father, that insignificant bug, was not worthy of my recruitment!"
One of the judges took the letter from Murphy and began passing it around among the members.
At this point, Murphy took out a second letter. "I knew you wouldn't easily admit it, but can you deny that this letter is in your own handwriting?"
Murphy unfolded the second letter, which contained only a few short words urging repayment. However, just like the first letter, it had Lucius Malfoy's signature at the end.
"This...," Lucius stammered. "I only lent Sanders two hundred Galleons, and I asked him to repay me! What does this prove?"
"First, it proves that my father had a good relationship with you, or else why would you lend him two hundred Galleons? Second, this letter was written in your own hand. By comparing the handwriting of these two letters, we can determine if the first letter was indeed written by you."
Murphy handed the second letter to another judge for examination, allowing it to circulate among the members.
"This doesn't prove anything!" Lucius roared. "The first letter is a forgery! The handwriting has been faked! A duplication charm! Yes, it must be a duplication charm!"
"A duplication charm cannot achieve this effect, Mr. Malfoy," Murphy replied. "Moreover, the material of the parchment, the signs of aging over several years, and the identical handwriting to yours, how could it be a forgery?"
