Mountain stood with his hands behind his back on the metallic floor of the spacecraft taking off to leave the Path. He looked out of the window at the woman who came to see him off, his stone-like expression a contrast with the complexity on the beautiful face.
Despite the look in the woman's eyes that showed care and worry, he seemed to see pity, and sympathy, as the scars below the earthen cover he had created on his face with his own elemental energy seemed to sting, to remind him of their presence, of his weakness, of his imperfection.
Mountain clenched his hands into a fist behind him. The spacecraft followed its designated path, and moved out of the Path. It oriented itself, then started accelerating, as a cloak made of energy flickered into existence around it.
