With no more immediate threat, Alex looked around.
His team had been decimated, and by three hostiles only. Evolution was indeed an extraordinary thing.
Looking at the one or two that were managing to rise from the ground, he ordered in a raspy voice:
"Send the distress signal and try to save those still alive. Clean the battlefield and we will retreat."
Level 3 evolvers. As long as his deputy and him got treated, they would survive. That was how miraculous breaking humans' limits made one. Not alive and kicking, but at least still alive. As for what they would lose permanently, anything might be better than death.
As he looked at the results of the last minute of contact, Alex reacquainted himself with their circumstances.
