Today, after the week Estrella had given the rest of the world to prepare, she was standing in the landing base of New City. She was watching evolvers with uniforms sporting an insignia of a sword crossed over a shield running at and getting into vertical lifting vessels that would take them to outer space.
That was the remnant force of the Sword and Shield department that was going to the frontline, because it went without saying that New City would not welcome millions of armed foreign forces just to ferry them to their destination.
She turned to Hannah beside her, who had her head down manipulating her tablet to coordinate the movements of the external base of New City built in the middle of the ocean. She couldn't help but notice how the young girl from years ago had matured. Wiping the shadow of a smile from her face, she returned to her cold self and started to walk away.
"I'm leaving. Take care of the rear."
