Lucas, and everyone in the room, and maybe beyond it too, felt a surge of electricity pass through them. It was faint, but at the same time obvious. While it didn't seem to do anything to the people, Lucas ignored the sensation and focused on its source instead.
"CHRISTINA!!!"
He saw the new mother support her child with one hand. The latter looked dehydrated, his small face crumpled in pain, his small hands struggling to grip anything that could make him feel better.
From where he was, Lucas could feel the imbalance projected by his small form.
As for Christina's other hand, she had it in front of her chest. A shiny blue color of the same hue as her eyes was coming from beneath her skin. He didn't know what she was doing, but the dread it was causing him made him feel assured that it was not anything good.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? STOP IT!"
But Christina ignored him. Her focus remained unwavering.
