"Stop right there."
Estrella knew that he was dodging the question, but that was not the reason behind her colder than usual voice that made Lucas freeze in place with a wry expression.
They could think about solutions for his failure to absorb energy later, but when she saw him bend his legs, tense his muscles, and cause hair width fissures on the ground, she had to stop him.
She didn't let Lucas put forward any argument as she spoke:
"You know I don't like people coming into the mansion. Who do you expect to repair the crater you are about to make?"
It looked like Lucas had wanted to jump over the distance of hundreds of meters to get to the base where Hannah would be. But the recoil from the strength needed to do that would have made the roof suffer the way Estrella had described.
Lucas sighed and disappeared from where he was. He reappeared before the stairs, and obediently went down the conventional way.
