The emperor's eyes flickered as he went through everything he had been presented with.
With a stern expression, he spoke without taking his eyes away from the chief scientist:
"This is a pivotal moment. Before I answer, tell me once again the worst that can happen."
The chief scientist didn't lose his smile:
"Respected Fire of Gars, the worst that can happen is the destruction of the universe, our death, blasting a hole in space, or all of that at the same time."
Despite the dissatisfaction his reply was getting, he didn't seem to care:
"We might also only lose the resources invested. Even the most important one. What I want to say is that there are many possibilities."
The emperor didn't hide his displeasure, and a minister at the side voiced it for him:
"Quit the sophistry and give the assembly a concrete answer."
"Then you don't need to fret. Unless something we don't understand happens, at most we will lose the crystal."
