After a while, the Russian president was the first to break the silence:

Everyone nodded at the two questions. They were important, with the first one able to finally give them a view on the exact reason New City managed to get a foothold. As for the second one, it was chilling to know that someone could leave the planet with everyone else unaware despite all the monitoring devices and programs. And if the technology for the spacecraft was able to be applied to weapons, no one would be safe anymore, which would mean that the threat assessment of the opponent would have to go through a remake.
Lucas nodded, as if to say that he considered the questions asked normal.
"The relic is a base built by the aliens that visited Earth at the moment of the extinction event that ended the era of dinosaurs."
