Estrella kept silent for a moment before answering:
"The Americans."
The room, after the answer, only had the sound of the working machines for a while. The sound of breathing was almost inaudible.
Estrella remained on the side and watched Lucas caress the face of the unconscious woman. Her thoughts remained unknown, but Lucas' voice snapped her out of them:
"Let's go."
He didn't wait and left the room, and beneath his calm facade, Estrella spotted no anger. His dull golden eyes were indifferent as he walked slowly. She sped up to walk by his side without asking anything.
Lucas thought about that seed of staying together with Christina that had germinated when they had spent time together in Argentina. He had appreciated her presence, her personality and the warmth he felt with her. He had suppressed it for many reasons, but maybe he had gone about things the wrong way. Or…
