Lucas elaborated what he had thought about and what Estrella was just starting to think about:
"There is no reason for me to understand the symbols of the foreign language here. No reason other than the old alien. He talked about the soul and manipulations pertaining to it, or at the very least, pertaining to its connection with the body. If we consider that it might be an information carrier, that would explain my instinctive understanding of their language."
They stayed silent for a moment because of the implied meaning of what was just said.
Still, that moment didn't last long. One had been a soldier before embarking on a path full of unknowns, and the other had been an intelligence agent. And both had been trained for difficult situations where pressure must be dealt with, hence they soon brought their minds to the right place.
Estrella remarked:
"If the old alien had not lied, you might have to jump into the pit he prepared for you."
